Secretary of War Pete Hegseth lit up the media in a scathing rant about the American mainstream media and their constant negative coverage of President Donald Trump’s Operation Epic Fury during a press briefing at the Pentagon. Hegseth kicked off the briefing by sending a stern message to the radical Islamic regime of Iran.
“We are reloading with more power than ever before,” he stated. “We are locked and loaded. We’d rather not have to do it, but we’re ready to go at the command of our president and at the push of a button.” Following his message to the Iranian government, Hegseth went off on the American media, saying he was both disappointed and frustrated with how they have covered the war in Iran.
“To the American media—I just can’t help but notice the endless stream of garbage, the relentlessly negative coverage you cannot resist peddling,” his rant started. “Sometimes it’s hard to figure out what side some of you are actually on. It’s incredibly unpatriotic.” He then illustrated his point by sharing a story from the Bible.
“Jesus entered a synagogue and healed a man with a withered hand. The Pharisees came to watch. As the scripture reads, they were there to see whether Jesus would heal on the Sabbath so that they might accuse Him,” the secretary of war said, according to the Irish Star. “You see, the Pharisees — the so-called and self-appointed elites of their time — were there to witness, to write everything down, and to report. But their hearts were hardened, even though they witnessed a literal miracle. It didn’t matter to them.”
They were only there to explain away the goodness in pursuit of their agenda,” he added. “As the passage ends, the Pharisees went out and immediately held a council against him, plotting how they might destroy him. Our press are like these Pharisees.” The comments from Hegseth come just days after top MAGA figures and the president slammed the Vatican, referring to Pope Leo XIV as “weak” and accusing him of being with the “radical left.”
MAGA conservatives commented on a post sharing a video of the dressing-down the press received, largely agreeing with how Hegseth handled the situation. “Legacy media is against America so they can find a way to disparage Trump there is no other way to look at it. It is shameful,” one commenter said. Another said, “This is why legacy media ratings are down. The American people don’t trust them anymore. Those companies could’ve made so much money if they were just being honest…..”
Someone else noted that the mainstream media doesn’t just hate President Trump, but also despises those who have voted for him and support his agenda. “Its not just hatred for Trump. They hate his voters even more and even more than that anyone in the Military who voted for him. Their hate has many targets,” the person wrote. A Trump supporter then pointed out, “They would rather America fail than to give any credit to Trump at all.”
