DOJ Launches Federal Criminal Probe after Anti-ICE Activist Assaults Female Conservative Reporter, Shoves Her to the Ground [VIDEO]

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has opened a criminal investigation after well-known conservative reporter, Savanah Hernandez, became a victim of assault at the hands of a vicious anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agitator outside of a federal building located in Minnesota. Hernandez was filming a demonstration outside of the Whipple ICE facility during an anti-ICE event when the incident occurred.

Hernandez, who is a contributor for Turning Point USA, the same organization founded by Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September 2025, was recording B-roll of the protest on a public street, when she was soon surrounded by angry protesters. “I was just brutally assaulted by multiple people outside of the Whipple ICE facility in Minneapolis. Multiple people swung on me and a grown man pushed me to the ground,” Hernandez wrote in a post on X.

“My glasses are broken. ANTIFA still alive and well. I’m talking with police about pressing charges,” she added. Footage taken of the scene shows several agitators hitting Hernandez, including a man who brutally shoved her to the ground from behind. “All of this because I was standing outside on a public street filming a protest in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” Hernandez said.

According to Trending Politics News, Hernandez identified one individual involved in the incident as William Kelly, who is a professional agitator currently facing charges in connection with storming a church in the city of St. Paul. “This is the guy, William Scott Kelly, who incited the mob against me today,” the conservative reporter stated in another X post.

He identified me as I stood at the fence taking BROLL of the ICE facility at today’s protest. Apparently he’s the same guy who was arrested storming the church in Minneapolis back in January of this year,” Hernandez continued. “This is now the second time I have been mobbed and assaulted for filming a protest on U.S. streets.”

“I’m waking up with a headache and stiff neck this morning due to how violently anti-ICE activist, Chris Ostroushko, shoved me down yesterday. A second angle shows that he had to be held back by 5 men as he continued to charge at me. I didn’t speak a word to him all day yet he repeatedly called me a b***h and very clearly looks like he wanted to violently hurt me even worse than he did,” she said of the incident.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon responded to the assault of Hernandez by replying directly to one of her posts, saying, “On it.” People have interpreted the statement to mean federal involvement in the investigation. Local law enforcement authorities also indicated that the individuals involved in the assault would face state charges.

Video footage posted by Hernandez showed one person, Paige Ostroushko, being arrested not long after the incident occurred. Conservative personality Alex Stein replied to the footage on X saying, “That guy belongs in jail for doing that.” Another individual went on to write, “What a lunatic. And these people think they’re the ‘good guys.'”
