In another infuriating interview from a Democrat who seemingly just couldn’t praise American victory abroad and instead had to use Operation Epic Freedom to attack Trump and attack America while praising the People’s Republic of China, Rep. Eugene Vindman (D-VA) appeared on MS NOW on Tuesday, April 7 to attack Trump and praise China.
Such is what he did in the context of the ceasefire that brought at least a temporary end to the Operation Epic Fury fighting, declaring during his appearance on MS NOW’s “The Weeknight” that obliterating Iran’s military and weapon stockpiles has put America in a “worse” position than would otherwise be the case, and that China is an “attractive” alternative to America on the world stage.
For reference, the president has made clear that the strikes only ended on Tuesday because Iran begged for a ceasefire and put forward an agenda that can serve as a good basis for negotiations that not only bring an end to this particular conflict, but to the constant fighting with Iran in the region generally, which would put America in a massively improved position and allow a fuller pivot to dealing with the PRC threat.
In any case, Rep. Vindman began his tirade by insisting that a few weeks of higher gas prices have put a “tremendous strain” on the American people, saying, “Look, the American people are under a tremendous strain, tremendous pressure. The president was elected to do one thing: lower costs for the American people, get a hold of inflation.”
Continuing, he insisted that Trump has made inflation worse, a claim belied by all evidence, saying, “In fact, all of his policies — the vast majority of his policies have gone in the other direction, between the tariffs that have caused inflation, everything from grocery prices, to food, and you add on these ridiculous wars.”
The congressman still wasn’t done. Continuing, he bemoaned the cost of the war per day, ignoring that Democrats in states like California and Minnesota have allowed unbelievable amounts of fraud. He said, “If the war were to end today, again, I’m skeptical, we’ve been at war for 40 days. We have been spending an average of $1 billion a day.”
That’s when he got to his absurd claim that America is in a worse place because of the conflict, whining about Trump’s mean tweets regarding dealing with the Iranian menace, saying, “We spent $40 billion on this conflict to put ourselves in what is likely a worse geopolitical position than when we started, with the president threatening to annihilate a civilization.”

Then, concluding by praising communist China and saying that the PRC is looking “attractive” compared to America right now, a claim belied by the relative outperformance of American military technology over the Chinese state’s military technology in Iran, saying, “And our adversaries, the Chinese, actually, look like they could be attractive alternatives to the U.S. in this context.”
