Christians from all over the country have flocked to Asbury University over the last two weeks to take part in a Christian Revival that has begun to overflow into other universities around America. According to Breitbart, the small town of Wilmore, Kentucky has seen 50,000 Christians flood to their city with prayer.

As the revival outgrew the size of Asbury’s campus, proceedings were taken off campus. Now, the movement has made its way to Samford University where all-day prayer has swept through the school. Similar things are being seen at other schools, like Lee University, Cedarville University, and Oklahoma Baptist University. The Campus Pastor at Lee University Rob Fultz had this to say about the amazing sights:
“What’s happening at Asbury is not and will not remain confined. It will, and already is awakening the deep wells of revival on campuses across the nation. They have been churning, pressing against the seals that have kept them hidden, and they are about to burst with new life.”
Samford University Pastor Bobby Gatlin shared a similar sentiment, as quote by the Baptist Press:
‘“College students are hungry for authentic faith. They long to experience a Christianity that is real and meaningful.”
“This movement is a grassroots stirring that can only be explained by the Spirit of God working in the lives of individuals and small groups of students who are coming together in faith.”
“For several years, multiple students have prayed for and asked about revival. I think God is answering those prayers in a powerful way and is bringing about life transformation.”
According to Twitter user Byron Paulus, this movement has even made its way to Baylor University:
“Baylor campus last night. Growing intensity and urgency in prayer and worship will lead to accelerating movement of revival. A powerful “How to Pray” document circulating on campus. Never in my 47 years of revival ministry have I seen this widespread of movement.”

Thomas White, president of Cedarville University in Ohio, shared his thoughts about the miraculous event in a Facebook post, saying:
“Chapel @Cedarville yesterday kept going until after 1:00 pm. We gathered again last night at 8 pm for prayer and praise which lasted another 2 hours with students still gathering in smaller groups when I left at 11:00. I love our students and their passion for Jesus! God may be stirring hearts across the country. Pray! Pray for wisdom on how to steward this moment and for a genuine authentic outpouring of God’s Grace and power.”
This movement, while still growing, seems like it has the staying power to become part of a larger cultural shift as America attempts to move back, closer to its Christian roots. Many in America have yearned for the Christian Faith to once again become a counterpoint of American society, and with so many young people joining in prayer and worship this dream seems closer to reality than it has been in many of these students lives. Time will tell if the movement can continue, but so far, it has shown no signs of slowing down.
