Fox News Insider Shoots Down Another Fabricated Media Attempt to Lie about and Sink Pete Hegseth

Jillian Anderson, a former employee of Fox News, took to social media platform X in order to set the record straight about Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, as the left-wing media continues to try assassinating his character. Anderson made it clear that during her time with the company working with Hegseth, he was the consummate professional, contrary to the claims made in various media reports.

Anderson’s comments were in response to a post from Hannah Cox, owner of Athens Media, who posted on X about Hegseth, claiming that an anonymous source confirmed all the negative, nasty rumors floating around about him in the press. “Not naming names obviously, but shortly after Hegseth’s confirmation I was at the Fox News studios and a personality said to me, ‘It’s all true, every single thing written about him. We’re all shaking our heads but we can’t say anything,'” Cox wrote.

Anderson responded to the post with a warning about believing information that comes from “anonymous sources.” The former Fox employee said, “Former Fox News employee here, Hegseth was nothing but professional and I always enjoyed working with him. I went on the record with this last year and I’d do it again. Ignore the coordinated lies from these ‘anonymous sources.'”

One of the most egregious digs against Hegseth concerns sexual assault allegations made against him in 2017. The issue was addressed during his confirmation hearing in January 2025. “From story after story in the media, left-wing media, we saw anonymous source after anonymous source based on second- or third-hand accounts,” Hegseth said during the hearing.

“I’m not a perfect person, but redemption is real, and God forged me in ways that I know I’m prepared for, and I’m honored by the people standing and sitting behind me and look forward to leading this Pentagon on behalf of the war fighters,” he added. Many Republicans in the Senate shared Hegseth’s opinion on anonymous sources and believed that many of the rumors about him were untrue and amounted to nothing more than a political attack.

The comments on Anderson’s post shared her skepticism over anonymous sources, with one individual writing, “Interesting that people claiming Hegseth was always professional are willing to go on the record, while those trashing him are doing it anonymously.” Another user replied to the post, “@Jillie_Alexis
nobody believes @HannahDCox. This is just a replay of the same old Democrat propaganda machine tactics… It’s always some ‘anonymous source’ to get a faux story on the headline.”

The reply continued, “Normal healthy minded Americans see it for what it is the only audience Hannah will captivate with this smear campaign are the lunatic leftist that honestly don’t care about facts it’s all about doing the maximum damage to a person’s character for political purposes.” Another pointed out, “Hegseth is taking a lot of flack and we all know that means: he’s over the target.”

Another individual slammed Cox for being a “libertarian grifter,” going on to write, “Hannah Cox is a lost cause now, her libertarian grift dried up and she tried relationship grift and it didn’t take. Now she’s working generic political grift it looks like. At some point it’s going to be easier for her to just get a job and make a living like the rest of us.”
