Actor Robert De Niro, while attending U.S. Supreme Court oral arguments on birthright citizenship in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, dismissed claims that he has “Trump Derangement Syndrome” (TDS) as “nonsense.”
He told political correspondent Nicholas Ballasy that people dislike President Trump “for a reason, of all the terrible things he’s done” and called Trump “damaged” for choosing “hateful, retribution, just outright mean things” instead of “nice things” during his presidency.
Asked for his main criticism of Trump, De Niro said “Everything” and “Everything that we all know now.” On the court arguments, he said he was “not sure” because “I could hear, but not hear. It’s complicated,” but labeled the administration’s position “that simple” as a way to “get rid of people they don’t want.”
“What do you say to Trump and his allies who are saying you have the TDS — Trump Derangement Syndrome?” asked political correspondent Nicholas Ballasy. Prompting the Hollywood actor to spit out “Nonsense.”
“People don’t like him for a reason, of all the terrible things he’s done,” Robert De Niro whined, “If he did nice things — he had the chance, he became president, to do nice things, not hateful, retribution, just outright mean things — if he did nice things, people would love him,” the Casino actor added. “But he’s got a problem. He’s damaged.”
When he was asked for his “main criticism” of President Trump, De Niro responded, “Everything…Everything that we all know now.” He also called the president “a piece of sh*t,” a “nasty little b**ch,” and an “enemy” of the United States, as well as someone he would like to “punch” in “the face.”
After being asked for his opinion on how he felt the arguments went, De Niro replied, “I’m not sure, because I could hear, but not hear. It’s complicated. So, I can’t say.” “It’s that simple,” De Niro claimed, dismissing the Trump administration’s immigration views as Republicans wanting to “get rid of people they don’t want.”

“When the crowds are chanting ‘No Kings,’ what I’m really hearing – as we all know – is ‘No Trump.’ There have been other presidents who have tested the constitutional limits of their power, but none have been such an existential threat to our freedoms and security — none — except Trump,” De Niro told supporters at the “No Kings” rally he attended recently. “He must be stopped, and he must be stopped now.”
As we reported at the American Tribune, Trump originally posted, “They should actually get on a boat with Trump Deranged Robert De Niro, another sick and demented person with, I believe, an extremely Low IQ, who has absolutely no idea what he is doing or saying — some of which is seriously CRIMINAL!”

Adding, “When I watched him break down in tears last night, much like a child would do, I realized that he may be even sicker than Crazy Rosie O’Donnell, who is right now in Ireland trying to figure out how to come back into our beautiful United States.” He said that the main difference between De Niro and the O’Donnellis that “she is probably somewhat smarter than him.”
