New Details Emerge in Bondi’s Firing as Source Explains Hidden Story

According to a source that spoke to the Daily Mail about the matter, President Donald J. Trump’s out-of-the-blue firing of now-former Attorney General Pam Bondi came because she was involved in leaking information on an upcoming FBI file release regarding Eric Swalwell, and the president responded to the leak by firing her.

As background, it a was all of a sudden thatEric Swalwell (D-CA), a leading candidate in California’s 2026 gubernatorial race, seemed to find out that the Kash Patel-led Federal Bureau of Investigation was considering releasing details related to his past relationship with suspected Chinese intelligence operative Christine “Fang Fang” Fang, something to which he responded by having his legal team fire off a furious cease-and-desist letter to FBI Director Kash Patel threatening legal action.

Swalwell’s lawyers called the move a “transparent attempt to smear” him and violate federal privacy law and DOJ election-timing policy. The FBI defended its transparency. Swalwell, who cut ties with Fang in 2015 after an FBI briefing and faced no charges or ethics violations, appeared on CNN decrying the timing, 34 days before early voting. Rep. Jamie Raskin labeled it “weaponization” of the FBI.

Freaking out, Swalwell’s attorneys Sean Hecker and Norm Eisen sent a cease-and-desist letter to FBI Director Kash Patel. “[Y]our attempt to release the file is a transparent attempt to smear him and undermine his campaign for Governor of California,” they wrote. The lawyers additionally claimed, “Your actions threaten to expose you, others at the FBI, and the FBI itself to significant legal liability. Indeed, disclosure of the investigative file would violate federal law in several respects.”

Now, it appears that he was able to find out about the upcoming files release ahead of time because it had been leaked within the DOJ, and that Pam Bondi assisted in the release because she is a friend of Swalwell, something infuriating to real MAGA types within the administration, who are decidedly not friends with the radical leftist congressman and gubernatorial candidate.

Such is what was revealed by The Daily Mail, which reported, “The FBI was preparing a cache of documents on Swalwell’s relationship with Christine Fang.” Further, the British tabloid revealed that a source had told it, “She’s intervening in those matters. The White House wasn’t pleased she was intervening due to her personal friendship with Swalwell.”

Collin Rugg of Trending Politics, posting about the matter, said, “Pam Bondi was fired, in part, because President Trump believed she had tipped off Eric Swalwell, according to the Daily Mail. Trump reportedly believes Bondi had tipped off Swalwell about the FBI’s effort to share investigative documents about his relationship with an alleged Chinese spy.”

FNC’s Peter Doocy, commenting on Bondi being fired shortly before that report emerged said, “It doesn’t sound like there is any bad blood between her and President Trump, but it does seem like they want her to go and do something else.” Doocy added, “And in an interim role, she will be replaced by Todd Blanche, who is currently her deputy at the Justice Department.”

He further noted, “So it doesn’t sound like Blanche is being elevated long term to the Attorney General. There might be somebody else that the President wants to go in there, but President Trump soon will announce to the entire world that it is the end of Pam Bondi’s time as the attorney general.”
