Breitbart News exclusively reported that Blake Gober, hired in January 2026 as campaign manager for Rep. Andy Barr’s (R-KY) U.S. Senate bid to succeed Mitch McConnell, is a longtime #NeverTrump activist. Gober has publicly declared he never voted for Trump, instead writing in Jeb Bush in 2016 and voting third-party in 2020.
He also repeatedly attacked Trump as a “stain,” “loser,” “Divider-in-Chief,” “puppet for Putin,” and “not fit to be President,” supported Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, and attacked Trump allies, including Breitbart’s Matthew Boyle and Charlie Kirk.
Barr’s campaign defended the congressman’s own Trump support but refused to answer questions about Gober’s history or vetting. The story broke weeks before Kentucky’s May 2026 GOP Senate primary, which has been hotly contested.
One incriminating tweet read, “Today, I am proud to have never voted for Donald Trump (I wrote in Jeb in 2016 and voted for Kanye in 2020). And no matter what happens, I will never vote Donald Trump for President,” proving Gober was a RINO. “I am proud that I have never voted for Donald Trump,” another post confirmed.
Gober also posted, “Never have had a maga hat (I’ve never voted for Trump), I have never worn cowboys boots, I don’t like big belt buckles, I don’t have a hitch. So out of everything you got…zero correct. But I do pray that God Blesses America.”
In another screed, he posted, “On June 16, 2015 Donald Trump announced his candidacy for President and I decided that I would be #NeverTrump. Tonight, November 15, 2022, Donald Trump announced his candidacy for President in 2024, and I am once again #NeverTrump”
Making a poor forecast in 2023, he predicted, “Trump is the weakest candidate remaining. Nikki Haley is clearly the best candidate based on polling and based on leadership.” Other posts noted, “Vote for Nikki!,” becasue, “Trump can’t win in November but Nikki can.”

He also claimed that, “The following people are/were Conservative: Reagan, GHW Bush, GW Bush, Romney, Ryan, Cheney. The following people are NOT Conservative: Trump.” Additionally, he argued that “Bush-Cheney was 100000x’s better than Trump in EVERY category.”
Still not done, the campaign manager alleged, “No one more mature or experienced will work for Trump. All of us want Trump to go away forever. #MakeTheRepublicanPartyRepublicanAgain.” Making another absurd claim, he suggested, “Mike Pence with a good answer on Ukraine and Putin. Trump and Vivek is nothing but a puppet for Putin #GOPDebate”
“Just a reminder, Donald Trump is not fit to be President of the United States again. Any of the people on the stage tonight are much better suited to be President than either Trump or Biden #GOPDebate,” the bitter swamp creature alleged.
Still not done obsessing over pathetic RINOS, with a losing record, Blake Gober said, “With the talk of #ImmigrationReform, I think it is important to note:Only 1 candidate, @JebBush, has been consistent on Immigration.”
However, Andy Barr has remained a strong ally to the president, posting, “Just like President Trump said this month, I’ve been with him all the way. I’m the only candidate who has ever helped him pass the America First Agenda. Put me in the Senate and we will keep delivering for Kentucky and the USA 🇺🇸”
