Things got exceedingly entertaining when Maryland Governor Wes Moore, known primarily for his radically leftist politics and for the utterly disastrous present condition of his state, tried to ingratiate himself with the public by appearing at the Opening Day Orioles game on Thursday, March 26. It went less than well for the woke governor.
Particularly, it went quite poorly in that the Democrat was met not with cheers but with a cacaphony of loud booing as he was introduced to the fans in Oriole Park at Camden Yards, before the Orioles played the Minnesota Twins in a home opener that Baltimore ended up winning 2 to 1. His introduction came before the first pitch and was quite a mess.
What happened was that Moore, trying to look positive in the public eye, appeared on the field alongside a slew of state officials and the Orioles’ ownership to tout the recently completed bevy of upgrades to the stadium and stadium complex, a massive set of upgrades that cost $135 million and that were the largest set of improvements since the Camden Yards complex opened in the early 1990s.
Those improvements include things like a new center-field board that displays in 4k, a new sound system that is quite an upgrade from the old one, renovated club-level spaces for premium fans, and a brand-new Premium Club behind the home plate. Altogether, they’re a major set of improvements to a park that was growing somewhat long in the tooth.
So, one might think that the crowd would be excited about all the new amenities and upgrades, and thus respond positively to the governor’s presence on the field and at the park. Perhaps they were, but when the governor was displayed on the sparkling new screen and introduced to the crowd, that didn’t matter.
Instead, the crowd loudly booed him. FOX Baltimore, posting about the incident on X, noted, obviously reveling in the jeering directed at the quite evidently discomfited governor, “Gov. Wes Moore was booed by the crowd ahead of the Orioles home opener on Thursday”.

Commenters on the post chimed in with messages like, “He was booed because he puts Americans last every time and they know it”, “Every politician gets booed I would be more interested in a good assessment of just how loud”, and “Moore’s a pathological liar. A vote for Wes Moore is a vote for physical and fiscal Maryland decline. The Potomac River overflowing with crap is an apt metaphor for the governor himself!”
Others said things like “Its good to see what other Marylanders think of his governing ability. He a horrible governor, and I can’t wait till Marylanders have the ability to vote him out. It will be a great day for maryland”, “No where near loud enough, do better Maryland!”, and “Raise taxes, increase fees, watch people and jobs leave your state. Expect the boos. Actions have consequences.” Others, however, were doubtful that it matters, saying things like, “And yet, when given the chance, they’ll re-elect him.”
