A new video going viral on social media is destroying the leftist media narrative that Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers are angry, violent racists looking to cause havoc. Instead, it shows agents deployed at a Houston airport to assist the Transportation Security Administration as the Department of Homeland Security shutdown continues.
In the clip, ICE officers can be seen handing out bottles of water to people waiting in lengthy security checkpoint lines. Agents also held people’s spot in line if they needed to use the restroom. Many of the interactions were cordial and pleasant, showing that ICE agents are truly there to provide assistance and ease the frustrations of travel during this difficult situation.
President Donald Trump praised ICE agents for their work at airports this week, stating that they are rehabilitating a fake image cast upon them by radical left-wing activists and media outlets. Trump deployed the agents to airports around the country on March 23, 2026. The president took to Truth Social where he expressed how proud he was of the work agents were doing.
“I am so proud of our ICE Patriots! They were unfairly maligned by the Lunatic Democrats for years, and now, at the Airports, in addition to what they are supposed to be doing, they are helping people with bags, even picking up and cleaning areas,” Trump wrote, according to The Hill. “They are so proud to be there! The fact is, they shouldn’t have to do this, but they are rehabbing a fake image given to them by Radical Left Democrat politicians.”
“The Public is loving ICE, so the Democrats, unwittingly, did us a favor — They are Great American Patriots, they just happen to have much larger, and harder, muscles than most — which is what they’re supposed to have,” Trump’s post continued.
“Thank you to ICE for the GREAT job you are doing. America very much appreciates it!” The president concluded. As of this writing, wait times at major airports remain lengthy, despite the presence of ICE. At George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, it still takes 45 minutes to get through a checkpoint at Terminal A and over two hours to make it through one located at Terminal E.

Acting TSA Administrator Ha Nguyen McNeill spoke to the House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, saying that ICE agents are helping with “queue management,” along with exit lane staffing and providing passengers with instructions on how to load up bins, along with other tasks, freeing up TSA workers, who are currently working without pay, to focus on screening travelers.
“It takes a while to really get folks embedded into our operations and it’s gone extremely well, and our feedback from the passengers and our field leadership has been very positive,” she replied to a question asked by Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ). The DHS shutdown started on February 14, 2026. The situation is the result of Democrats demanding changes to immigration enforcement procedures following the shooting deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
Good was shot by an ICE officer after she resisted orders to stop interfering with an operation in Minneapolis and trying to run over an agent. Pretti physically assaulted officers during a protest and seemingly tried to reach for a gun he had on him.
