In response to the partial DHS shutdown that has been inflicted on America by Democrats and caused TSA staffing shortages and long airport lines, ICE agents deployed to U.S. airports starting March 23, 2026. They did so with the aim of assisting the TSA with non-screening tasks, including line management, crowd control, exit guarding, and ID checks. Additionally, they are on the lookout for illegal aliens, and a viral video out of San Francisco shows an illegal alien has already been caught.
For reference, uniformly Democratic city government figures involved in the crisis, such as Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and New Orleans airport officials, have insisted that deployments support TSA operations, not immigration enforcement. However, President Trump posted on Truth Social that ICE would, where possible, also engage in arrests of undocumented immigrants.
Specifically, the president took to Truth Social to argue, “If the Radical Left Democrats don’t immediately sign an agreement to let our Country, in particular, our Airports, be FREE and SAFE again, I will move our brilliant and patriotic ICE Agents to the Airports where they will do Security like no one has ever seen before, including the immediate arrest of all Illegal Immigrants who have come into our Country…”
Such is already happening, as revealed by a viral post out of San Francisco that shows ICE agents arresting an illegal alien as the crowd surrounding them whined typical Democrat platitudes. The woman recording demanded to see badge numbers and suggested that someone” call 911″ in response to the arrest.
The video reportedly showed the moment ICE agents began cuffing and arresting the crying woman at around 10 pm local time on Sunday, March 22, before the ICE airport deployments officially began. The arrest incident occurred inside the airport’s Terminal 3.
Predictably, the various leftists gathered in the airport freaked out over the incident, with multiple passengers gathering in a small crowd to yell at the officers and film them, with the illegal alien woman and her young girl sobbing as one passenger yells, “This is un-American”! Another can be heard shouting, “What is your badge number? What is your name?”
Posting on X about what happened, DHS said, “This arrest of ILLEGAL ALIENS occurred yesterday on March 22, 2026 — BEFORE ICE officers were deployed to airports to bolster TSA efforts. ICE officers arrested Angelina Lopez-Jimenez and Wendy Godinez-Lopez at the San Francisco International Airport. These illegal aliens had a final removal order of removal from an immigration judge since 2019. While being escorted to the international terminal for processing, Lopez-Jimenez attempted to flee and resisted law enforcement officers. ICE is working as quickly as possible to repatriate the family unit to their home country of Guatemala.”

“We understand federal officers were transporting two individuals on an outbound flight when this incident occurred. We believe this is an isolated incident and have no reason to suspect broader enforcement action at SFO,” San Francisco airport spokesman Doug Yakel told the New York Post.
Promoting the clip, a viral post read, “IT HAS BEGUN: Federal agents arrested an illegal alien in San Francisco this morning while rabid Democrats lost their minds demanding agents’ names and badge numbers. Hell yeah this is exactly what I voted for. Enforcement is back, and the meltdown is glorious.”

Freaking out, irritating Democrat Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey whined, “The goal is to terrorize people. If the goal here was safety at airports, he could hire out more TSA agents that do an incredible job at keeping our airports safe.”
In an official statement, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens stated, “We have been informed that federal personnel from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ICE-ERO) will be deployed to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport beginning tomorrow morning.”
“According to federal officials, these personnel will be assigned to support operational needs directed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), including line management and crowd control within the domestic terminals. Federal officials have indicated that this deployment is not intended to conduct immigration enforcement activities,” the statement read.
The mayor said, “All federal personnel will report directly to TSA for the duration of this assignment. There are no requests for support from the Atlanta Police Department, and no anticipated impact on City operations at this time.
“Our Administration will continue to monitor the situation closely and remain in communication with the public and travelers as these federal actions develop,” he explained, “Atlanta remains committed to ensuring that residents and travelers feel safe, informed, and supported as they move through the world’s busiest and most efficient airport.
Wrapping up his comments, he noted, “Our Administration remains hopeful the Federal Government can soon find a way to fully fund TSA and pay their employees to resume standard operations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport—and all airports we connect to.”
