Fani Willis Loses Big to President Trump in Another Big Lawsuit Defeat

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee ruled March 9-10, 2026, that disqualified DA Fani Willis cannot intervene in President Trump and 13 co-defendants’ claim for ~$16.85 million in attorney fees from her collapsed 2023 Georgia RICO election interference case.

The president was indicted for alleged 2020 election subversion, but the prosecution fell apart after Willis’s 2024 disqualification, due to a sordid romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, appeals, and Trump’s reelection.

However, the New prosecutor, Peter Skandalakis, dropped all charges on Nov. 26, 2025. Georgia law now allows fee recovery post-disqualification. McAfee called Willis’s office “wholly disqualified” with interests already represented by the state, but permitted Fulton County, the payor, to participate.

In any case, Fani Willis’s office issued a motion to intervene, which read, “Without intervention by the District Attorney, any award would violate basic fundamental notions of due process by denying her an opportunity to be heard or even challenge the reasonableness of the claimed attorney fees before it is taken from her budget.”

Adding more context, Steve Sadow, President Trump’s lead attorney in the Georgia case, added, “Judge McAfee has properly denied DA Willis’ motion to intervene in POTUS’ action for reimbursement of attorney fees because her disqualification for improper conduct bars Willis and her office from any further participation in this dismissed, lawfare case.”

Likewise, Peter Skandalakis, the director of the Georgia Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council, declared,  “In my professional judgment, the citizens of Georgia are not served by pursuing this case in full for another five to ten years.”

The judge at the center of the case, Scott McAfee, noted in his written order denying intervention that he’d made the decision “Because the FCDA’s interests are adequately represented by the State, and as the office was ‘wholly disqualified,’ the motion to intervene is denied.”

Reacting to the victory on social media, one viral post read, “BIG WIN 🚨Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee ruled Monday that Fani Willis cannot take part in Trumps suit to recoup ($17M) in legal fees.” The same account explained, “Willlis was “Wholly disqualified” allowing Trump & co-defendants the right to reimbursement. Willis tried to intervene, but got smacked down,” totally exposing the partisan hack at the center of the scandal.

Upset, one MAGA supporter in the comments wrote, “The bigger question regarding Fani Willis is: Why isn’t she in jail? As well as why is it her so-called ‘boyfriend’ who cheated on his estranged wife, also not in jail? What is very apparent is the Fulton County DA engaged in unprofessional, unethical, and illegal conduct.”

“Fatty Willis is probably like ‘How could this have happened to me? Oh, how the tides have turned,” another quipped. Blasting Willis, one woman added,’ Fani Willis is a corrupt failure. She will ultimately be punished for desecrating our sacred judicial system to serve partisan ends.”

“Go sit at the kiddie table and wait for your turn to be arrested! You should have been disbarred already for committing perjury!” a Trump fan added. Asking a pertinent question, another added, “Had she called the race card yet?? All our tax money be paid for her to get laid in the cabin with her assistant lawyer.”
