Hugely popular podcast host Joe Rogan recently weighed in on President Donald Trump’s joint strike with Israel against the oppressive Islamic Iranian regime, which resulted in the death of the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in Operation Epic Fury. His take on the matter was less than positive. During a segment of The Joe Rogan Experience, the podcast host and UFC commentator claimed that Americans feel betrayed by Trump for launching strikes on Iran.
Rogan kicked off his statement by criticizing the president for running on an “anti-war” platform, but then turning around and dropping bombs on Iran without providing what he felt was solid justification for doing so. “It just seems so insane based on what he ran on,” Rogan said. “This is why a lot of people feel betrayed. He ran on no more wars and these stupid, senseless wars.” “And then we have one that we can’t even really clearly define why we did it,” Rogan concluded.
However, new polling data reveals that Americans don’t feel as conflicted as Rogan seems to think they are over the president’s attacks on Iran. A user on social media platform X posted a meme featuring polls from major news organizations that show what people think about the matter.
A poll that was conducted by NBC News revealed that among President Trump’s strongest supporters, those who describe themselves as MAGA Republicans, 90% of those polled approve of dropping bombs on Iran, perceiving them as a threat to our national security. Those who just identify as Republican come in with 77% approval. Even non-MAGA Republicans are largely supportive of the strikes with 54%. A total of 41% of all adults are on board with the strikes as well.
Non-Republicans are more skeptical, however. Independents are 27% supportive with 9% of Democrats agreeing with the decision to strike at Iran. A CNN poll produced similar results. MAGA Republicans; approval of Operation Epic Fury sits at 88%, while regular Republicans were also at 77%, the same figure as in the NBC News poll. Even more of the non-MAGA members of the GOP were on board in this survey group with 66% approval, followed by 41% of all adults.
Independents in the CNN poll had 32% approval with a surprising 18% of Democrats rounding it out. The meme also features the results of a YouGov poll that contained similar findings to the previous two. A total of 85% of MAGA Republicans approved of the Iran strike, with 76% of Republicans. Non-MAGA Republicans supported the strike with 63%, while all adults sat at 37%.
The independents that participated in the survey approved at 24%, while 11% of Democrats approved. The same user, Gabe Fleisher, also pointed out that the overall segment of Republicans who disapprove of the strikes on Iran is relatively small, based on the data culled from the YouGov poll. Fleisher noted that the number of MAGA Republicans who oppose the war is only about 3% of the Republican Party.

Non-MAGA Republicans who are critical of the strikes, like David French, only make up 4% of the party. Another user in the comment section pointed out that Trump’s strikes weren’t starting a war, but ending one. “Ending the Iran war of 47 years…not starting a new one. Get with the program.”
Another defended the president, writing, “Since my college days in the 70s, Iran has been a threat to its neighbors and the world. They sponsor terrorism, regularly disrupt commerce through the Strait of Hormuz, slaughter their own citizens, and are run by religious zealots. He is looking to future peace.”
