A suspected MS-13 gang member, Danny Antonio Granados-Garcia, a Salvadoran national, was arrested by the FBI in Waterbury, Connecticut, on March 10, 2026. He faced an active El Salvador arrest warrant and Interpol Blue Notice for aggravated homicide in the alleged murder of a pastor, who was related to an El Salvadorian police officer.
With help from FBI LEGAT San Salvador, he was identified and taken into custody without incident, then handed over to ICE for extradition to El Salvador. FBI New Haven emphasized MS-13’s brutality and the agency’s commitment to pursuing gang members for justice.
The FBI New Haven office stated, “With the assistance of FBI LEGAT San Salvador, Granados-Garcia was identified as a fugitive with an active El Salvadorian arrest warrant and @Interpol_HQ Blue Notice for aggravated homicide,” adding, “Granados-Garcia was wanted for the murder of a pastor, who was a relative of an El Salvadorian police officer.”
FBI New Haven Special Agent in Charge P.J. OβBrien added, “MS-13 members are notorious for their brutality, violence, and intimidation. No matter how committed they are to creating chaos in our communities, the FBI and our law enforcement partners remain steadfast in our commitment to relentlessly pursue members and associates of MS-13 and obtain justice for the victims of their crimes.”
Announcing the arrest, FBI Director Kash Patel posted, “Earlier today, @FBINewHaven arrested Danny Antonio Granados-Garcia β an El Salvador national and suspected member of MS-13. Granados-Garcia was in the U.S. with an active El Salvadorian arrest warrant for aggravated homicide – wanted for the murder of a pastor. He has been turned over to @ICEgov.”
Responding to Patel’s posts, one user in the comments stated, “Sanctuary cities say ‘immigrants make us safer.’ This guy was wanted for killing a pastor. Tell his victim’s family how safe they are.” Another added, “Excellent job! They will be waiting for him back home. Great living conditions as long as he falls in line!”
“He’ll simply love the prison in El Salvador!! Get him there quickly so he can start enjoying his time there!!” a commentator noted. A conservative woman added, “Send him back. Don’t want to pay for his comfort while awaiting our overlong due process. He’s wanted in his country…send him back.”

Enraged, another Trump supporter added, “Just a reminder, the Biden administration knowingly released 609k known murderers, rapists, and pedophiles on our streets, this is no exception. They took people out of prisons and mental asylums then gave them the red carpet treatment as they dumped them in our neighborhoods. They allowed over 2 million illegals to get away too without CBP.”
However, some liberals were upset by the arrest. “I thought DOJ refrained from posting images of people in custody or mug shots to prevent the images from tainting the jury pool. πππππ is this case different since it sounds like he will be deported, without ever seeing the inside of a U.S. courtroom?”
Reacting to the news, one user posted, “π¨ BREAKING: FBI New Haven nabs Danny Antonio Granados-Garcia El Salvador national & suspected MS-13 member wanted for aggravated homicide in the murder of a pastor. Active Interpol notice; taken into custody in Waterbury, CT & handed over to ICE for deportation. Justice served.”
