WATCH: Blue State Bureaucrat Gets Only a Slap on the Wrist for Vandalizing Teslas to Protest, Attack Elon

A Minnesota Department of Human Services employee, Dylan Adams, received a one-day unpaid suspension in January 2026 for vandalizing six Tesla vehicles in 2025, causing about $20,000 in damage. Motivated by Elon Musk’s political actions in 2024, Adams hoped owners would distance themselves from Musk and Tesla.

In an upsetting turn of events, no criminal charges were filed. Instead, Hennepin County offered a diversion program requiring restitution and completion of the program. State documents detail the suspension letter warning of potential termination for future violations, with appeal rights provided, but no record of appeal.

The DHS investigative report on the attack clearly indicated that he engaged in the property damage for political reasons, arguing that Dylan Adams vandalized the Teslas “in hopes the owners would disassociate themselves from Elon Musk and Tesla.” At the time, many far-left activists were upset about Musk’s effective work at DOGE.

Likewise, an official DHS letter to Adams read, “You are reminded that you are expected to comply with all Enterprise and Agency policies and fulfill your responsibility of maintaining public trust; failure to do so could result in further disciplinary action up to and including termination of your employment.”

However, the Hennepin County Attorney’s office spokesperson explained, “We offered diversion as we often do with property damage cases when the person has no record. Mr. Adams will have to complete the requirements of the program. He will also have to pay every penny in restitution to the victims. If he does not meet those requirements, we will proceed through the criminal legal system process.”

Reacting to the scandal, Fox News posted, “SLAP ON THE WRIST: A Minnesota state employee let off the hook after serving a one-day suspension from his job for vandalizing six Tesla vehicles, causing $20,000 in damage. Dylan Adams, the Walz administration staffer, was never charged with a crime, but instead allowed to enter an adult diversion program meant for first-time offenders while paying for the damage he caused,” the viral post pointed out.

Concluding the description, the news organization provided context on the inciting incident, revealing, “Adams says Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s political actions during the 2024 campaign were his motivation for the vandalism.”

Another viral post read, “They don’t even hide it…Dylan Adams keyed 6 Tesla in Minneapolis during the Tesla Terror protests. He is an employee in Tim Walz’s Minnesota government crime organization. His punishment? 1 day suspension. Equal justice right!?”

Similarly upset, another post read, “🚨 Dylan Adams, a Minnesota state employee under Governor Tim Walz, keyed six Teslas in Minneapolis, causing more than $20,000 in damage. His punishment that was just released from the Minnesota Department of Human Services? A one-day suspension.”

Reacting to the absurd situation, one response noted, “Ok, I feel like I just need to start mailing letters to various courthouses and county seats with a page that just has the definition of ‘consequences’ on it.” Another read, “So the guy didn’t even have to pay restitution? Let’s spread the word that felony property damage in Minneapolis is now legal.”
