Rep. Pat Fallon (R-TX) absolutely destroyed Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz in a fiery exchange during a hearing concerning the massive fraud that has been uncovered in his state involving members of the Somali community and billions of dollars stolen through Medicaid and other government funding scams. During the hearing, Fallon presented his theory as to why Walz was chosen by former Vice President Kamala Harris as her running mate during the 2024 election.
Fallon kicked off his theory by discussing the criteria that former President Barack Obama allegedly had when looking for his vice presidential running mate during the 2008 election cycle. The individual had to meet three qualifications: he had to be less intelligent than him, less charismatic, and couldn’t outshine him on the political stage.
“It’s been widely reported that, in 2008, when Barack Obama was choosing his vice presidential candidate, he had three criteria. He wanted to make sure he picked someone that wasn’t as smart as him and had less talent and charisma and couldn’t possibly outshine him, so he picked Joe Biden,” Fallon went on to say during the House Oversight Committee hearing.
“And then Joe Biden in 2020 used the exact same criteria,” Fallon added, according to WFMD. “He wanted to make sure he picked somebody that wasn’t as smart as him, had less talent and charisma and wouldn’t outshine him. And he picked Kamala Harris.” Fallon put the final nail in the coffin when he said, “I think it’s very evident why Kamala Harris picked you.”
Walz seemed to shrug off the slam, chuckling and saying, “I wouldn’t know, Congressman.” But Fallon wasn’t done yet. He had one more scorcher to unleash on Walz. “The talent pool isn’t just shallow, brother. We have hit the shore,” Fallon zinged before ending his questioning. The clip is becoming an instant classic, garnering a huge response on social media.
“Tim Walz just got SCORCHED,” conservative commentator Nick Sortor went on to say in a post on X. Brandon Straka, who founded the #Walkaway campaign, also posted on X, “Rep. Pat Fallon torches Tim Walz.” On Facebook, a commenter gave their reasoning behind the chuckle Walz gave following his shellacking, going on to write, “Walz laughing because he knows it’s true.”
Another commenter pointed out the same part of the video, writing, “The moment he realized that he was at the bottom of the pool…lmao.” Someone else dumped on Walz by saying, “When someone tells you the truth and you know it’s the truth, but the truth hurts, all you can do is nervous laugh.” Another commenter cracked a joke that made a reference to Walz’s nickname, “Tampon Tim,” which he earned for supporting tampons being provided to transgender males identifying as women.

“Tim went into toxic shock after that,” the comment read. A lot of speculation has been floating around the internet in recent months concerning what made Harris decide to pick Walz as her vice presidential running mate when there were other, more qualified, candidates available to choose from, including Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro.
