Conservative users on social media accuse retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), as Senate Rules Committee chair, of sabotaging the Trump-backed SAVE America Act by refusing to schedule a markup, stalling it despite GOP pressure and massive public support.

Critics claim his staff or allies, like Sen. John Thune, run his office amid health concerns, labeling it “senate sabotage,” elder abuse, and swamp protection. Responses call for term limits via Article V convention, ousting McConnell/Thune, or drastic actions like Trump confronting him. Many decry Congress as corrupt and urge bypassing establishment figures for election integrity.

Explaining the situation, one user stated, “🚨SENATE SABATOGE: Mitch McConnell (or his handler) is BLOCKING the “SAVE AMERICA ACT”! His opposition is being signaled via statements from “his office” and op-ed articles about ‘federal overreach.'”

The same user noted, “As Chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, Mitch has the authority to block or delay a markup by not scheduling one, which has effectively stalled bills like the SAVE Act despite pressure from House Republicans and Senate co-sponsors.”

Concluding the initial post declared, “Is McConnell even calling the shots anymore? Or is his staff (David Popp?) or is Thune’s crew ghost-running his office to protect the swamp?DO YOU THINK @LeaderJohnThune IS IN ON THE BLOCKAGE OF THE SAVE AMERICA ACT?”

Responding, Rep SamFarrington (R-NH) stated, “Congress is a nursing home. The majority of members are corrupt, self serving narcissists. They aren’t going to fix the problem themselves. States need to exert the power they hold. It is time for an Article V Convention to impose term limits on Congress”

Another irritated conservative declared, “Trump should crash these press conferences. Steal the mic. Berate McConnell for betraying the American people. Threaten to create a Legislative Tribunate and expose their long history of corruption. Crush them.”

Expressing common feelings, one comment read, “Tell me Republicans aren’t doing with Mitch McConnell exactly what Democrats did with Joe Biden. I do not regret leaving the party to become an Independant.” Likewise, another suggested, “That’s why we have Article 5 in our Constitution. Because the founding fathers worried about a time like this. And wanted us to have a way to correct the out of control government.”

“YES. YES. YES. I’ve been saying this for months. Go around McConnell and Thune. @LeaderJohnThune
is McConnell’s @SenMcConnell patsy. McConnell is in China’s back pocket,” an outraged comment noted. Likewise, Rep. James Thibault (R-NH) joked, “McConnell is in no shape to be in the Senate, let alone in leadership. Why do we let this corrupt, ancient swamp creatures run our country??”

“Mitch is a senile old man that can’t even answer questions, he can walk, and is clearly not competent should be removed from office as he is incapable of upholding his duties of office. America wants this a one old man is going to stop it?” read one sardonic comment.
