First Lady Melania Trump attended the 2026 State of the Union on February 24, channeling her official White House portrait in a tieless dark gray Dolce & Gabbana pantsuit, white button-down shirt, black belt, and matching Manolo Blahnik heels.
Fresh from her documentary “Melania,” which earned $7 million opening weekend, she invited students Sierra Burns and Everest Nevraumont for her “Be Best, Fostering the Future” initiative. Her sleek business look contrasted with past bold outfits, such as an Eric Javits hat at the inauguration and a mantilla at Pope Francis’s funeral.
In her short remarks at the State of the Union, First Lady Melania Trump declared, “Sierra and Everest embody my ongoing mission to uplift America’s foster youth and expand opportunity for our next generation through education and technology.”
“I am proud to have them join me at this historic event. Sierra and Everest represent the young people across America whose personal experience, drive, and self-motivation reflect the goals of my BE BEST Fostering the Future initiatives,” she said to close out her comments.
Adding more context, the courageous White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted, “The first lady will have two great children with her as part of her Fostering the Future initiative. The president himself has invited some extraordinary guests this year who, again, truly exemplify what it means to be a patriotic American.”
Turning towards the topic of President Trump’s guests, Leavitt stated, “Erika Kirk will be one of President Trump’s Special Guests at the State of the Union. ‘The president will call on Congress to ‘firmly reject political violence against our fellow citizens’ with Charlie Kirk’s widow in the chamber.'”
The White House issued an official statement on the guests in attendance, pointing out “Sierra Burns, a participant in the Melania Trump Foster Youth to Independence Program, and Everest Nevraumont, a 11-year-old Alpha School student, AI-advocate, and TedX speaker, joined First Lady Melania Trump in the First Lady’s Box for the 2026 State of the Union.”

“Together, they represent the spirit of Mrs. Trump’s BE BEST Fostering the Future initiative: advancing opportunity and empowering young Americans through technology and education,” the same document explained.
Additionaly, the White House offered context on President Trump’s guests.”On December 17, 2018, Jody’s brother, Rocky Jones, was shot and killed by an illegal immigrant in Tulare County, California. The criminal alien who committed this brutal murder had previously been arrested for violent crimes and had twice been deported,” another statement read.

Closing out the description, the White House explained the devastating cost of illegal immigration. “A few days later, he went on a 24-hour ‘reign of terror,’ injuring several people, robbing a gas station, leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase, and killing 51-year old Rocky, who was known as a kind and gentle soul. Rocky leaves behind a precious daughter and 4 brothers,” the description continued.
