Radical left-wing members of the infamous “Squad” almost burst into tears as their heckling of President Donald Trump during his State of the Union address was drowned out by patriotic chants of “U-S-A” from Republicans on February 24, 2026. Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan were the ones who seemed to be the hardest hit as the president took a verbal sledgehammer to the “Somali pirates who ransacked Minnesota.”
The two Muslim congresswomen began screaming at the president, referring to him as a “liar,” claiming that American blood was on his hands due to the immigration crackdown in the state. The blood in this case is refers to the shooting deaths of two anti-ICE agitators, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who interfered with Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations by assaulting officers.
However, their cries were soon made inaudible by the Republican majority, who stood on their feet and chanted, “U-S-A.” President Trump said, “When it comes to the corruption that is plundering America, there has been no more stunning example than Minnesota – where members of the Somali community have pillaged an estimated $19 billion from the American taxpayer.”
According to MSN, Trump went on to say that the welfare fraud in Minnesota is a reminder that “there are large parts of the world where bribery, corruption, and lawlessness are the norm, not the exception.” He then issued a warning that “importing these cultures through unrestricted immigration and open borders brings those problems right here to the USA.”
Cameras then turned on Omar — who is Somali– appearing emotionally distraught, as the president continued to obliterate compatriots in her home state of Minnesota who, due to their involvement in various schemes and scams, have become a high priority in his crackdown on illegal immigration. Both Omar and Tlaib yelled abusive comments about the president’s immigration enforcement operations, which were scaled back earlier in February after the two agitators were killed by ICE officers.
The pair yelled from their seats, “You have killed Americans,” as the scene unfolded in anarchy. Trump, never one to back down from a political rumble, quickly turned to the two women in the audience and called them a “disgrace” before telling them that they “should be ashamed.” That’s when GOP lawmakers stood up and quickly began chanting to silence the two women.
Before the president’s address even started, Texas Democrat Al Green was booted from the event after he held up a sign saying, “Black people aren’t apes.” The placard was a reference to a post that was shared by Trump on social media featuring a comedic AI-generated video that showed Democrats as various animals from the Lion King movie franchise, including the Obamas as primates.

The sign, which was held up as the president was making his way to the podium, was then blocked by Republican Senators Markwayne Mullin and Roger Marshall, who quickly moved to stand in front of Green. President Trump’s speech focused heavily on his domestic accomplishments achieved during his first year in office, which included a ratepayer pledge to keep the cost of energy down, which is currently being driven up by AI data centers.
