Social media exploded after a heartwarming video captured during President Trump’s 2026 State of the Union address was posted. In the clip, his five children, Barron, Donald Jr., Eric, Ivanka, and Tiffany, stood to applaud First Lady Melania Trump as she entered and took her seat, with Barron sharing a special moment with his mother amid cheers from the crowd.
Fox News noted the full First Family’s presence, including Barron’s rare appearance. The first lady invited several guests to the speech. Her guests were Sierra Burns, a Melania Trump Foster Youth to Independence Program participant and foster care advocate.
She also invited Everest Nevraumont, an 11-year-old AI advocate, TEDx speaker, and Alpha School student, who embodied her BE BEST Fostering the Future initiative focused on uplifting foster youth and expanding opportunities through education and technology.
Many users drew attention to the President’s 5 children, all standing to honor Melania Trump as she strode to her seat. Adding context, Fox News posted, “TRUMPS IN THE HOUSE: The First Family is out in full force as they fill the Capitol for President Trump’s State of the Union address — with even Barron making a special appearance.”
Another shot shows Melania walking to her seat as she shares a special moment with her son, Barron Trump. As she turned her attention to the crowd, a round of cheers burst out. Melania elegantly waved to the crowd with practiced ease.
Adding context to her choice in guests, the First Lady noted, “Sierra and Everest embody my ongoing mission to uplift America’s foster youth and expand opportunity for our next generation through education and technology.”
“I am proud to have them join me at this historic event. Sierra and Everest represent the young people across America whose personal experience, drive, and self-motivation reflect the goals of my BE BEST Fostering the Future initiatives,” she added.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt previewed the guests, declaring, “The first lady will have two great children with her as part of her Fostering the Future initiative. The president himself has invited some extraordinary guests this year who, again, truly exemplify what it means to be a patriotic American.”
Describing her guests, the White House added, “Sierra Burns, a participant in the Melania Trump Foster Youth to Independence Program, and Everest Nevraumont, a 11-year-old Alpha School student, AI-advocate, and TedX speaker, joined First Lady Melania Trump in the First Lady’s Box for the 2026 State of the Union.”
“Together, they represent the spirit of Mrs. Trump’s BE BEST Fostering the Future initiative: advancing opportunity and empowering young Americans through technology and education,” the same document explained.

Unusually, President Trump invited his own slate of guests, including Erika Kirk, the widow of slain political activist and TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk. Leavitt posted, “Erika Kirk will be one of President Trump’s Special Guests at the State of the Union. ‘The president will call on Congress to ‘firmly reject political violence against our fellow citizens’ with Charlie Kirk’s widow in the chamber.'”
Other guests included Jody Jones from Farmersville, California. The whitehosue noted, “On December 17, 2018, Jody’s brother, Rocky Jones, was shot and killed by an illegal immigrant in Tulare County, California. The criminal alien who committed this brutal murder had previously been arrested for violent crimes and had twice been deported.”
The same document added, “A few days later, he went on a 24-hour ‘reign of terror,’ injuring several people, robbing a gas station, leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase, and killing 51-year old Rocky, who was known as a kind and gentle soul. Rocky leaves behind a precious daughter and 4 brothers.”
