As part of the ongoing Epstein Scandal, it was revealed that in 2013, a Democratic fundraising firm, Dynamic SRG, emailed Jeffrey Epstein, praising then-freshman Congressman Hakeem Jeffries as a “rising star” nicknamed “Brooklyn’s Barack,” a staunch Obama supporter, and progressive voice.
Additionally, the leaked email promoted Jeffries’ work on key committees and invited Epstein to a DCCC/DSCC fundraising dinner with President Obama or to connect personally with Jeffries to support Democratic efforts for a 2014 House majority. It was forwarded by Epstein’s assistant Lesley Groff.
The pitch included an excerpt from an NY1 profile highlighting Jeffries’ early ambition.
Social media users amplified it with claims of deeper Epstein-Democratic ties, including conspiracy theories alleging required Epstein involvement for congressional access or worse.
In any case, the email began, “Dear Jeffrey: We are thrilled to announce that we are working with Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, one of the rising stars in the New York Congressional delegation. Sometimes referred to as “Brooklyn’s Barack”, he is a staunch supporter of President Obama and a progressive voice for the people of New York City.”
Continuing, the same source added, “NY1 did a profile piece on his work on the vitally important Budget and Judiciary committees in Washington. You can watch the video here [link redacted in your paste] or read the text below.” Adding more praise, the email continued, “Hakeem is committed to electing a Democratic majority in 2014 and is encouraging his friends to participate in a DCCC/DSCC fundraising dinner with President Obama this coming Monday night. ”
Winding down, the document read, “Shoot us an email or give us a call at (212) 531-xxxx if you would like to get involved with the dinner, or would like to get a call to get to know Hakeem better. He is an impressive guy and who will be a progressive voice in New York politics for years to come.” Signed, “Thanks, Rigger, Lisa Rossi & Walter Swett Darren Rigger Dynamic SRG.”
A second email, from Michael Scott, added, “Hakeem Jeffries is only about four months into his freshman year in Congress but he’s already positioning himself for a long career in Washington. NY1’s Michael Scott filed the following report.”

“‘There’s a hip hop knock Hakeem Jeffries off message, you won’t get very far.’ Jeffries said. “‘In a positive manner, of course,'” the quoted section of the article read, laying on over the top praise to the current minority leader.
Publishing the email, one user posted, “🚨Report: Democrat fundraisers invited Jeffrey Epstein to a private meeting with then New York Congressman Hakeem Jeffries during a 2013 effort to win the U.S. House majority.” Reacting, one user stated, “I read an article that layed out different emails from Epstein that basically shows that anyone that wanted to be in Congress on the Dems side had to go through Epstein to get a meeting with Schumer.”
Others questioned why the Democrats would have been so bold and of poor judgment to praise Epstein and invite him to a major fundraiser on behalf of a rising star candidate in 2013, well after his original conviction in 2008 in Florida, where he pleaded guilty to stunningly reduced charges of soliciting a prostitute and procuring a child for prostitution.
