In this week’s episode of leftists eating their own, CNN’s Don Lemon is on exceedingly thin ice at CNN because he dared say that GOP presidential candidate Nikki Halley is no longer in her prime as a 51-year-old woman. News on that comes from the Daily Beast, which reported that:
Don Lemon will not appear Monday on CNN This Morning as his future on the show continues to be discussed at the highest levels within the network, according to two people familiar with the matter.
Lemon, who was forced to make a groveling apology to CNN staffers on Friday after making offensive remarks about women and aging, had been scheduled to anchor This Morning alongside co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins, according to a copy of the CNN anchor schedule obtained and reviewed by Confider.
But by Sunday afternoon a new on-air lineup schedule was sent out by CNN management that had the show being anchored by Harlow and Sara Sidner in New York with Collins in Poland, according to two people familiar with the matter.
Even more damningly for Don, the report added that “There are ongoing conversations about Don’s future. He is a constant distraction.” Oh, and CNN CEO Chris Licht was “disappointed” with Don Lemon, reportedly saying “His remarks were upsetting, unacceptable, and unfair to his co-hosts, and ultimately a huge distraction to the great work of this organization.”
“Great work” might be a bit of a stretch for CNN…but, regardless, Licht’s remarks and the Daily Beast report show that things aren’t looking good for Lemon. Breitbart’s Nolte, commenting on just how bad things are looking for him, said:
Newsflash: Lemon’s career is over.
Oh, sure, he might be brought back to CNN, even as early as Tuesday morning. But Don Lemon’s overall career as a liar, propagandist, conspiracy theorist, credibly-accused sexual assaulter, and fan of left-wing terrorists is over.
Lemon was a total failure in primetime, and now the ratings for his morning show are at a ten-year low.
Despite his long term future being in doubt, it looks like Don will be coming back this Wednesday, though he’ll have to undergo “formal training” to avoid offending psychotic cat women again. PEOPLE, reporting on that, said:
CNN staffers were notified Monday evening that Lemon will be back on air Wednesday and has “agreed to participate in formal training,” according to a memo obtained by PEOPLE to employees from network chairman Chris Licht.
In the note, Licht reportedly said that he had a “frank and meaningful conversation” with Lemon after the 56-year-old made headlines for suggesting Haley, 51, a Republican who recently announced her candidacy for president, was “past her prime.”
“He has agreed to participate in formal training, as well as continuing to listen and learn,” the memo read. “We take this situation very seriously. It is important to me that CNN balances accountability with a fostering a culture in which people can own, learn and grow from their mistakes. To that end, Don will return to CNN This Morning on Wednesday.”
