According to recent reports, California Democrats are panicking over their crowded, uninspiring gubernatorial field, which could split votes in the state’s top-two “jungle” primary, risking that two candidates advance to the next stage of the election.
Former Fox News host Steve Hilton is polling at 17%, and Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco has secured 14% of the electorate. This trend could end Democratic dominance since 2011, prompting an anonymous legislator to call the election a “sh**show” due to poor leadership. In any case, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco reacted to the situation, saying, “Yeah, so yes, I think it’s a little bit odd that they’re panicking about that, and they don’t recognize that it’s because of decades of complete Democrat failure.”
Continuing his comments, he blasted the Democrats, noting, “It’s not because of a lack of a Democrat candidate, it’s the lack of a Democrat policy that they can show has helped California. The Democrat policy is indefensible in California.” Apparently, the Democrats are feeling the pressure as one anonymous Democratic state legislator stated that the election was a “sh**show.”
Dismissing the very real risk to Democratic control of the state, former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa claimed, “At the end of the day, everybody has a right to run. The notion that two Republicans can win [the primary] is poppycock.”
Firing back, Bianco quipped, “Obviously, polling contradicts that statement. Two Republicans have been ahead in the polls for the last six months. California is looking for change. They are looking for honesty, integrity, transparency, and leadership. And that is why they’re looking at me to be their next governor.”
Reacting to the news on social media, one user posted, “Yeah bro, Fox News dropping heat—CA Dems in full panic mode cuz two Republicans (Steve Hilton & Chad Bianco) topping polls in the jungle primary, could lock out Dems from the general ballot. Sheriff Bianco calling out their policies as straight indefensible after decades of mess. Blue state shake-up incoming? 🇺🇸🔥😂”
Responding to a post from Fox News summarizing this story, a California conservative stated, “Correct. It’s been darn near 13 years of Democrat super majority (with a small blip). Not one person can honestly look at the last decade and say ‘yes, the government has been good and effective for this state’.”

“As a republican, I will not vote for any Republican that doesn’t run on the campaign of prosecuting Gavin Newsom for insider trading, bribery, human trafficking, and arms smuggling,” a Trump supporter declared in the comments. Suggesting one possible cause for the chaos, a female commentator pondered, “California Democrats aren’t falling behind due to Republicans, they’re struggling because their policies have made the state a warning for others. Now, their main advantage is just being well-known.”
Offering a more cautious reading of the polls, a comment suggested, “Republicans cheering too early might want to remember: November turnout in California looks very different from primary turnout. The electorate broadens significantly.”
