In a hilarious video that went massively viral on social media, a UPS driver sprinted away from a pair of aggressive turkeys in Brandford, Connecticut. The delivery driver can be heard yelling, as he runs away from the threatening turkeys, “I’m 40-years-old, I can’t deal with this!”
And, of course, as the driver berates the aggressive and wild birds for chasing him around, onlookers laugh at the absurd situation. When the clip reached social media, dozens of users responded with their own experience with combative wild turkeys or to share their reactions to the funny clip.
For context, turkeys are native to North America and are currently found in every state in the U.S. except for Alaska. In total, there are more than 7 million wild turkeys across the nation, along with countless more on farms, though those birds are domesticated.
While domestic birds are typically timid and accustomed to human contact, wild animals are often aggressive toward humans. This is especially during breeding season. While they don’t often peck, attack, or chase humans, when they do, the results are dramatic, particularly given their large size.
Making light of the situation, the National Park Service took to Social media to make a snarky post. “Your chances of being hunted by a turkey are low, but never zero,” the tweet read, gathering over twenty-two thousand likes on the platform.
Offering a personal anecdote, one user posted, “Since a UPS driver getting attacked by wild turkey’s is trending, let me tell you. Wild Turkey’s are no joke. They almost got me out in Oregon,” adding, “I was doing a FaceTime, and then all of a sudden I heard the scariest noise ever. I look up and there is a turkey gang fight in the street. They are fighting each other, and staring me down ready to take me on next.”

Reacting to the viral clip, one comment joked, “Turkeys have never bothered me. They must smell city on him.” Likewise, a user stated, “This was a daily occurrence for me when I worked at FedEx in the Sierra Nevadas.”
Another popular response noted, “That UPS driver might die a poor man if not hungry… you saw Turkeys and chose to run rather than get one to back of the truck, go home, and prepare a nice sauce garnished with turkey. When was the last time you ate a nice meal? 🤣🤣🤣”
“It doesn’t even have to be wild turkey, once its turkey, I’m running because no bird scares or chases me as the evil bird turkey,” a frightened woman said. Buidling on this respone, another comment read, “I’m ngl I definitely almost had to run from a pack of turkeys a few times in my life. And it wasn’t that long ago 😅😅😅”
Making light of the situation, a reply stated, “They’re just confused by the giant turkey with bright yellow waddle. If he dropped the safety jacket they would lose interest in him. No aggression going on.” Taking another view, another stated, “I can tell that most of you don’t know anything about turkeys. Lol
They can be a handful.”
