In yet more massive and hugely positive news for those who want to see the Trump Administration go scorched earth on the woke institutions that have done so much to discriminate against and attack conservatives over the years, the Trump Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that it had brought a lawsuit against Harvard University over Harvard’s discriminatory practices.
As background, the Supreme Court ruled in 2023 that racial discrimination in college admissions for the purposes of effecting DEI is largely illegal, a ground-shaking decision that has given the right huge legal opportunities to go after those colleges that refuse to abide by the ruling and stop discriminating.
Such is the basis of the DOJ’s present legal attack on Harvard, as it announced in a February 13 press release. Beginning, the DOJ explained the basis of the lawsuit, saying, “The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division (DOJ) filed a lawsuit today against Harvard University (Harvard), accusing Harvard of unlawfully withholding from the United States admissions data information necessary to determine whether Harvard is continuing to discriminate in its admissions process, even after the Supreme Court’s 2023 ruling in Students for Fair Admissions v. President and Fellows of Harvard College.”
Continuing, the DOJ explained that Harvard is suspected of not complying with the Supreme Court and has refused to provide satisfactory data to the DOJ, saying, “The lawsuit alleges that Harvard repeatedly slow-walked the pace of production and refused to produce pertinent data and documents requested by the DOJ, including individualized applicant admissions data, admissions policies, and correspondence related to race; ethnicity; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and Students for Fair Admissions.”
Further, the statement noted that Harvard is required by law to comply with documentation requests because it accepts federal funding, and thus the suit has a strong legal basis. It said, “The suit alleges that Harvard — a recipient of DOJ funding — violated Title VI by failing to comply with the DOJ’s request for sufficient document production for compliance review.”
Adding on to that, the statement noted that if Harvard does not go along with its demands, then it has yet more avenues for prosecuting the woke university, saying, “The suit also notes that by failing to make timely and complete document productions or otherwise permitting the DOJ to access Harvard’s applicant-level admissions data, Harvard breached a material term of DOJ federal financial assistance.”
Attorney General Pamela Bondi, commenting on the situation, noted that the Trump DOJ will continue its battle against DEI all over America, saying, “Under President Trump’s leadership, this Department of Justice is demanding better from our nation’s educational institutions. Harvard has failed to disclose the data we need to ensure that its admissions are free of discrimination — we will continue fighting to put merit over DEI across America.”

Similarly, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division explained, “The Justice Department will not allow universities to flout our nation’s federal civil rights laws by refusing to provide the information required for our review.”
She then added that Harvard has not complied as it should, saying, “Providing requested data is a basic expectation of any credible compliance process, and refusal to cooperate creates concerns about university practices. If Harvard has stopped discriminating, it should happily share the data necessary to prove it.”
