Border Patrol Official Caught Hiding, Harboring Illegal Alien in His Home

A supervisor with U.S. Customs and Border Protection is facing accusations of harboring an illegal alien that he was having a romantic relationship with at his home in Texas. Andres Wilkinson appeared in a federal courtroom where a judge ordered that he be held in custody until a detention hearing could be arranged. Wilkinson started working for the CBP in 2001.

He was promoted to a supervisory position in 2021, where he was tasked with overseeing enforcement of customs and immigration law. Authorities discovered that an illegal alien, identified as Elva Edith Garcia-Vallejo in court documents, was living with Wilkinson in his Texas home. The two were romantically involved. Garcia-Vallejo came to the U.S. on a non-immigrant visa in August 2023, but overstayed authorized travel, which expired on February 4, 2024, according to authorities.

From June through November 2025, authorities put Wilkinson’s home under surveillance, an operation that proved fruitful as they witnessed Garcia-Vallejo living at the residence, along with her underage child. Investigators observed the woman using several vehicles registered under Wilkinson’s name.

According to a report from Fox News, Garcia-Vallejo was questioned by authorities in February 2026. Federal prosecutors on the case allege that she had been living with Wilkinson for quite some time, possibly since August 2024. During the time of their relationship, Wilkinson took care of Garcia-Vallejo by providing for her financially, paying off her financial obligations, giving her access to vehicles, housing, and credit cards.

In an even greater disregard for the law he was tasked to uphold, Wilkinson provided transportation assistance to help Garcia-Vallejo get through U.S. Border Patrol checkpoints. When she first came into the country, Garcia-Vallejo lived with her husband in the city of Laredo. Her husband filed a petition for her to become a legal resident, but then withdrew the request in April 2025.

Fox News then reported that investigators with CBP received information on May 14, 2025, from a law enforcement database that indicated Garcia-Vallejo was Wilkinson’s niece, claiming she was the “daughter” of a man that the Border Patrol supervisor had listed as his brother in his 2023 background investigation. “The woman admitted that she had been living with her uncle, SCBPO Wilkinson, since on or about August 2024,” a complaint read.

Investigators later uncovered a document from May 2025 in which Wilkinson confirmed to the Border Region/Behavioral Health Center that Garcia-Vallejo and her children had been living at his home since December 7, 2024. Adding to the overall confusion of the situation, the complaint that was filed does not clarify if Wilkinson and Garcia-Vallejo are related by blood or through marriage.

If convicted, Wilkinson could end up spending up to a decade behind bars, along with a hefty $250,000 fine. “Based on the above facts and circumstances, there is probable cause to believe that SCBPO Wilkinson brought in, harbored, concealed, transported, and shielded an alien from detection, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such entry, residence, or transportation would be in violation” of federal law, the complaint goes on to add. Fox News attempted to reach out to Border Patrol for a comment on the situation, but as of this writing it has not received a response.
