In some jaw-dropping news out of California, which has already been exposed as a center of healthcare fraud by Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Dr. Oz, a new report has revealed that Los Angeles County alone is a massive center of home health care fraud in America, with the details of the fraud large enough to be a national problem.
As background, the massive scandals that have come out of Minnesota, where fraud gangs composed primarily of Somali migrants have been caught stealing massive amounts of money from taxpayers, has led to more investigations of other suspected fraud, including in California, where even larger fraud is widely suspected.
The Fox News Channel report on the matter began by noting one particularly egregious case of fraud that has been discovered in California, saying, “Doctor billed the government $120 million in a single year, claiming to oversee 1900 patients with almost 2000 hospice agencies. LA County has more than 36 states combined, and 30 times more than either Florida or New York.”
Continuing, it noted the truly absurd nature of the fraud that is going on in Los Angeles, with that one county in California taking up nearly a fifth of all home health care spending in America, which shouldn’t be possible, saying, “18% of the whole country’s home health care billing is coming out of Los Angeles County. How is that possible?”
Still not done, the report then showed a map that indicated massive fraud, with hundreds of hospice providers located in one tiny portion of the county, including in locations that make no sense for such a business. It said, “How is that possible? And take a look at this map, a cluster of 287 hospice providers, in a two-mile radius, some in strip malls, unmarked buildings, even a wrecking yard and vacant lot.”
Concluding, the viral report from FNC noted that the nature of the bureaucratic system involved and the paperwork with it means fraudsters can take advantage of the government from everywhere, saying, “All of it is just paperwork. I could fill that out in Kazakhstan if I want and get a hospice license waiting for me.”

Drawing attention to a related matter was Dr. Oz, who, in a post on X, revealed that fraudsters are going after America’s senior citizens and are trying to use the massive hospice and home health care scandal mentioned above to steal yet more money and resources from American seniors, particularly in terms of pilfering Medicare benefits from them through tricking them into signing up for unnecessary hospice services.
In his post on X, which included a clip from FNC exposing the scandal in more depth, Dr. Oz said, “The clip Gavin Newsom doesn’t want you to see! Seniors and caretakers, please be careful! People, posing as salespeople, are targeting older Americans to trick them into signing up for Hospice without their knowledge. If they get you to sign, you will forfeit regular Medicare benefits. DON’T DO IT. If you think you may have experienced fraud, call 1800-Medicare to report it.”
