Huge New Data Reveals Longtime Blue State Could Be Trending Red Thanks to Mass Deportations

A viral X post highlighted a new poll showing Minnesotans favoring assisting ICE and Trump with arresting undocumented immigrants by +14 points, where 50% support and 36% oppose, suggesting the state could flip red and urging a GOP governor election.

Particularly, many commenters outside the state and Republicans within it think that the combination of mass deportations becoming more generally popular with the public, the chaos surrounding the ICE crackdown quieting down now that Walz has bent the knee to Trump, and Walz’s large and growing unpopularity give the GOP a good chance of flipping Minnesota in the upcoming elections.

Describing the present situation in Minnesota, a viral post read,”🚨 HOLY SMOKES. Minnesota could be on its way to FLIPPING RED, new poll just dropped finding by +14 POINTS, Minnesotans want Democrat leaders to ASSIST ICE and President Trump with arresting illegal Help ICE: 50% (+14) ‼️ Don’t help: 36%,” adding, “BRUTAL. Flip red, MN! Elect a GOP governor this year!”

Digging into the details, one commenter on that post alleged the state is already trending red and might even be a GOP state were it not for alleged fraud involving migrants in the state and other issues, saying, “Minnesota would be red already if it wasn’t for the [alleged] massive voter fraud going on in that state. The Midwest is pretty red in general. Everyone here is confused about how there are any blue states at all.”

For reference, Minnesota has been a Democratic state in many elections during both the late 20th century and some decades of this century, but also many of the state’s non-high-density urban counties are red. Yet further, they have become gradually more red over time, particularly the Trump years. Check that out here:

The state-level Republican Party has joined in, as it too wants to win and thinks it can do so with Gov. Tim Walz seeing his popularity fall like a rock amidst massive fraud scandals committed largely by Somali migrants and of the sort that have been repeatedly exposed in the national press and made Minnesota a laughing stock in the eyes of America.

In fact, they think that while the ICE and immigration crackdown situation is currently weighing on their popularity, they can win, as the fraud issue is much deeper and more infuriating to many, particularly when the ICE raids quiet down. Such is what Alex Plechash, the Minnesota Republican Party Chairman, argued.

He said, speaking about the situation and the hope that the state will turn red in an interview with local media, “The ICE situation is going to end. It’s going to dissipate. It will end whether it’s next week, next month. It’s kind of a local thing right now but the fraud has a long tail on it. We’ll make sure that (issue) is before the voters.”

Given that Minnesota’s voters are broadly in support of deportations, as the new poll shows, Plechash’s prediction could come true even just as the riots quiet down, now that the Minnesota police are involved and working with ICE, as the mass deportations are carried out with less public unpleasantness and the fraud issue remains in the public eye.
