WATCH: Don Lemon Goes Berserk after Being Criminally Charged

In an absolutely entertaining public meltdown that came after he was arrested by the FBI and then released from jail on Friday, January 30, an arrest that occurred after he stormed a Minnesota church alongside a leftist mob, former CNN personality Don Lemon went berserk and rambled about the supposed tyranny of his facing consequences.

As background, in the original incident, which occurred on Sunday, January 18, a collection of leftist agitators, including fired former CNN hack Don Lemon, Cities Church to harass ICE and the pastor, who was falsely accused of working with ICE. What the mob did was a major felony, and now calls are growing for them to face the repercussions.

Apparently, Don Lemon, formerly employed at CNN and now an independent podcaster, was riled up alongside the other members of mob in the far-left city by claims from leftist sources online that the church and pastor had been working with ICE to detain and deport illegals. The church is an evangelical one, and leftist social media personalities claimed that the church’s pastor, David Easterwood, is the Field Office Director of ICE in the area. In response to those claims, Lemon and others stormed the church.

Lemon was then arrested by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) agents on the night of Thursday, January 29, shortly after a grand jury had been empaneled on the same day to consider charges against him. His arrest occurred in LA, where he was to cover the Grammys.

Fuming and freaking out in a public statement issued over the arrest, Lemon angrily snapped that he had been arrested just for being a journalist, an absurd claim given his seemingly clear violation of the law. He snapped, “Last night, the DOJ sent a team of federal agents to arrest me in the middle of the night for something that I had been doing for the last 30 years, and that is covering the news.”

Continuing, he insisted that he was protected in storming a church and harassing the parishioners alongside a mob because of the First Amendment, snapping, “The First Amendment of the Constitution protects that work for me and for countless of other journalists who do what I do, I stand with all of them and I will not be silenced. I look forward to my day in court.”

Lemon’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, freaked out over the matter as well, saying, “Don Lemon was taken into custody by federal agents last night in Los Angeles, where he was covering the Grammy awards. Don has been a journalist for 30 years, and his constitutionally protected work in Minneapolis was no different than what he has always done. The First Amendment exists to protect journalists whose role it is to shine light on the truth and hold those in power accountable. There is no more important time for people like Don to be doing this work.”

Lowell continued, “Instead of investigating the federal agents who killed two peaceful Minnesota protesters, the Trump Justice Department is devoting its time, attention and resources to this arrest, and that is the real indictment of wrongdoing in this case. This unprecedented attack on the First Amendment and transparent attempt to distract attention from the many crises facing this administration will not stand. Don will fight these charges vigorously and thoroughly in court.”
