“Look, It Got Boring”: Trump Cracks Hilarious Jokes as Media Accuses Him of Falling Asleep During Meeting [WATCH]

President Donald Trump offered a hilarious reason for closing his eyes during Cabinet meetings, as liberal media outlets attempt to raise concerns about his overall physical fitness and health. According to the president, he closes his eyes because he finds the meetings are “boring as hell,” making it clear the action is not in any way reflective of his health.

“It’s boring as hell; I’m going around a room, and I’ve got 28 guys — the last one was three and a half hours. I have to sit back and listen, and I move my hand so that people will know I’m listening,” Trump said in an interview with New York magazine. “I’m hearing every word, and I can’t wait to get out,” he continued. Leftist publications have been trying hard in recent months to raise speculation about President Trump’s ability to cope with chronic venous insufficiency.

There have been several individuals who have described the president as being “incoherent” while delivering an address at Quantico, Virginia, in October 2025. Even popular conservative commentator Megyn Kelly thought President Trump “rambled” while on the campaign trail and displayed “senior moments.” However, those close to Trump quickly came to his defense, pointing out the sharpness of his cognitive abilities and his ability to pick up on details, both big and small, in just seconds.

According to The Hill, Secretary of State Marco Rubio told New York magazine, “The guy is too healthy. He’s too active.” Rubio then recounted a time when President Trump surprised him with a set of medallion samples after noticing there were a few missing from chandeliers inside the State Department. The secretary of state then said that when Trump closes his eyes, it’s a “listening mechanism” that helps him to pay closer attention to who is speaking without getting distracted.

Trump also stated that he has regrets about getting an MRI scan and listening to the advice of professionals at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center back in the fall, as it has raised so many concerns about his health. “It was the worst f—ing thing I ever did, and I blame them,” Trump went on to say, pointing at his doctors. “They wanted me to take it. And because I took it, people want to say, ‘Oh, there must be something wrong,’” he continued.

President Trump has repeatedly defended his health and vitality to the media and continues to shut down leftist narratives claiming that his health is deteriorating. “I got an MRI. It was perfect,” Trump previously said to reporters. “I mean, I gave you the full results. We had an MRI and the machine, you know, the whole thing, and it was perfect.”

Critics of the president had a roaring good time picking on him for saying he had “no idea” what part of the body was scanned during the procedure. “It was just an MRI,” he went on to say. “What part of the body? It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test, and I aced it.”

A member of the White House medical unit who sat in on Trump’s interview with the publication, Col. James Jones, said the MRI took a “computerized tomography exam of his chest and his abdomen,” before clarifying that Trump didn’t actually have an MRI, but something very similar. “The reason for the imaging, as routine as we stated, is that any patient his age could have things, and we ruled them out,” Jones explained. “The story should be about the fact that the results were, uh, perfect. They did not demonstrate any problems.”
