Posting on Truth Social, President Donald Trump once again sounded off on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), demanding that she be investigated for what he insinuated was serious corruption, and that the investigation into her suspiciously skyrocketing net worth should occur “now”. His latest post comes as part of a long-running feud with her.
As background, Rep. Ilhan Omar, who is married to an investment manager, revealed in a recent financial disclosure that her net wealth is suddenly no longer near-zero, or even negative, as it was when she entered Congress, but rather has skyrocketed to $30 million dollars. Though that wealth comes from her husband, who garnered it through his fund, many find the sudden influx quite suspicious.
In his post, the president questioned how the congresswoman could have accumulated such a vast fortune while earning the sub-$200,000 salary of a member of Congress. He said, “Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is worth over $30 Million Dollars. There is no way such wealth could have been accumulated, legally, while being paid the salary of a politician.”
Further, the president described what he wants to see happen, arguing that the far-left “Squad” congresswoman needs to face a serious investigation for all sorts of alleged crimes. He said, “She should be investigated for Financial and Political Crimes, and that investigation should start, NOW!”
This isn’t the first time that the president has said as much recently. Posting about it on the 20th of January, he said, first commenting on the leftist agitators like Don Lemon who stormed the church in St. Paul, “Just watched footage of the Church Raid in Minnesota by the agitators and insurrectionists. These people are professionals! No person acts the way they act. They are highly trained to scream, rant, and rave, like lunatics, in a certain manner, just like they are doing. They are troublemakers who should be thrown in jail, or thrown out of the Country.”
Then, slamming Ilhan Omar, he commented on her vast wealth and government salary yet again, saying, “The first to go should be Walz, and Fake Sleazebag, Ilhan Omar, who is supposedly worth over $30 Million Dollars, even though she’s never had anything but a Government job. Investigate these Corrupt Politicians, and do it now!”
Trump isn’t the only one to comment on Omar’s wealth and call for an investigation. House Oversight Committee James Comer has said he will investigate her as well, telling the Post, “There are a lot of questions as to how her husband accumulated so much wealth over the past two years. It’s not possible. It’s not. I’m a money guy. It’s not possible.”

Further, he told investigative journalist Catherine Herridge, “Her net worth, just out of nowhere, skyrocketed”, going on to add that officials “know” it is somehow connected to the two investment funds her husband operates. “We have a lot of questions about where the money came from, how do you make that much in fees in a short period of time,” the chairman said.
