In a worrying development, New York City’s Democratic Socialists of America chapter (DSA) has announced a plan to mobilize over 4,000 activists for rapid response against anticipated ICE raids, drawing tactics from Minnesota protests sparked by the Jan. 7, 2026, fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent.
For context, riots in MN have involved noise alerts, crowds, and clashes, provoking the use of tear gas as well as threats from the Trump administration deploying the military under the Insurrection Act. DSA views ICE as emboldened and violent, aiming to deter detentions through community resistance amid broader anti-immigration enforcement.
Speaking to a crowd of over 100, a DSA leader who only identified herself as Marina raved, as the New York Post reported, “As we’ve seen in other cities, we still do anticipate a big wave of federal immigration enforcement.” Continuing, she noted, “It can be confusing, it can be scary, it can be kind of uncertain what’s happening in New York right now. . . . But we want to be on our front foot if and when it does.”
“If you speak Pular, if you speak Creole, if you speak Fulani – come find us. We really want you on the team,” another woke activist alleged. Continuing, that radical activist then insisted, “ICE is a violent organization and has been emboldened to respond to a lot of the work that many of you participated in.”
Likewise, Landry, a self-described tenant organizer in Crown Heights and an infamous DSA member, claimed that taking anti-illegal immigration moves is part of the “imperialist project,” snapping, “The immigrant crisis is part of the US imperialist project, and yet we treat immigrants to the experience of ICE.”
Continuing in her radical comments about obstructing ICE, Marina, the original speaker, whined, “This has been in the past in New York specifically enough to deter ICE detentions. If you’re interested in doing this kind of work, we can hook you up with whistles.” “We do have a lot of whistles,” Leemah Nasrati, another DSA leader and self-described pro bono refugee lawyer, claimed, “There are more of us than them.” Prompting, Marina added, “The whistles carry far and wide.”
Fighting back, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin gave a fiery statement about the anti-ICE organizers in which she furiously noted, “ICE law enforcement officers are sending criminal illegal aliens where they should have been all along – HOME for the holidays.”

Watch Karoline Leavitt skewer a woke reporter for his unhinged lies about ICE:
Issuing an official statement, the DSA rattled off woke talking points. “ICE agents are operating with a direct license to racially profile and an apparent license to kill,” the socialist organization said, “This is a grave failure of federal accountability and a continuation of a trajectory in which Black, Brown, Immigrant, and other racialized communities bear the barrel of the gun of militarized policy.”
Continuing their wordy and unclear rant, the DSA alleged, “Aggressive enforcement regimes are funded while the working class keeps asking for housing stability, healthcare access, community-based violence prevention, and genuine public safety — a clear indication that fiscal decisions are not morally neutral.”
Concluding the document with an insane TDS screed, the document added, “Trump’s racism was documented well before his first Presidential campaign…Trump’s one mission is clear: demonize Black and Brown folks. Infringement on our lives and our rights are on full display in our neighborhoods. There is zero will for accountability.”
