During a January 17, 2026, Democratic field hearing in St. Paul, Minnesota, dramatically titled “Kidnapped and Disappeared: Trump’s Deadly Assault on Minnesota”, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) criticized ICE enforcement and referred to the nation as the “godd*mn states.”
The clip sparked widespread conservative outrage on X, with users calling her remarks “disrespectful,” “appalling,” and “sick,” demanding denaturalization, deportation, and expulsion from Congress. For example, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) condemned her absurd comments, asking what consequences should follow.
During the hearing, the ungrateful and unpopular Democrat raved, “Those of us who escaped places like that, the one place where we thought we would never experience this is the U.S. godd*mn states… And we should all be ashamed.” Seemingly upset about basic immigration enforcement.
Upset by her inappropriate comments, a popular post featuring the video said, “@IlhanMN refers to our great country as the ‘U.S. G*ddamn States.’ There is no circumstance in which she should refer to our country in this way. It is beyond disrespectful — it is appalling, disgusting, and SICK. SHAME ON HER!”
When conservatives saw this clip, they were enraged. “Why hasn’t this woman been denaturalized and deported yet?” a response asked. “‘The one place where we thought we’d never experience so much pushback for defrauding taxpayers is the US Gd States!'” a sarcastic response noted.
Irritated, one commentator stated, “Spare us the fake sobbing blasphemy, Ilhan.” Building on this point, another added, “So glad we imported these people into the country. What would happen if they should all leave?”
“I’m grateful for Ilhan because she embodies every problem with mass migration to the West as a single person,” said a popular conservative influencer, “An ungrateful hag witch, plucked out of a living hell, comes to America, gets rich, gets elected, now regularly craps on the place from her seat of power.”

Calling for a significant change, one comment declared, “These two are the product of ‘legal’ immigration. Jayapal arrived on a student visa and later transitioned to an H-1B work visa. Omar arrived through refugee resettlement.”

Outraged by Ilhan Omar’s remarks, a female conservative quipped, “Can you even imagine having been given the greatest give on earth, the gift of American citizenship, coveted by billions around the globe, where you somehow managed to amass $30 million, and speaking this way about the country that gave you all that? What an appalling person.”
Laying out the simple facts of this case, another response asserted, “Stop talking. We know the truth. Get rid of these parasites. No one, including their supporters, actually thinks these people are American. Just get rid of them, problem solved.”
Mike Lee, the Republican Senator from Utah, slammed her comments. “No member of Congress should *ever* refer to our country as the “U.S. G*ddamn States.” What should be the consequence of saying that?” he said.
Similarly annoyed, another popular conservative added, “Too many people come over and steal and then accuse Americans of racism. Has to be shut down. Geniuses only. No more fake diplomas and forged credentials.”
