WATCH: Trump Vows to Strip Somali Fraudsters of Their American Citizenship, Deport Them

In a recent speech delivered in Detroit, Michigan, President Trump vowed to revoke the U.S. citizenship of any naturalized immigrant, from Somalia or elsewhere, convicted of defrauding Americans, followed by swift deportation and jail time. His comments echo those made by many conservatives who have said much the same thing about fraud needing to be punished with deportation, not jail time.

For context, the nation has been shocked by massive fraud rings targeting Minnesota’s social programs. According to some sources, up to $9B has been stolen, while others report the grand total is $18 billion or more, and in any case, the fraud was primarily committed by Somali immigrants.

President Trump, in reaction to the scandal, has also signaled that he will end Emergency Protected Status (TPS) for Somalis, cut off immigration from Somalia, and totally freeze all federal aid to sanctuary jurisdictions. On social media, conservatives rallied behind Trump, despite pathetic smears launched his way by biased, left-wing NGOs.

Starting off his remarks, the President noted, “We’re also going to revoke the citizenship of any naturalized immigrant from Somalia or anywhere else who is convicted of defrauding our citizens. We’re going to get them the hell out of here fast.”

Rounding out his courageous comments, President Trump asserted, “And if you come to America to rob Americans, we’re throwing you in jail, and we’re sending you back to the place from where you came. We’re throwing you right in jail.”

Reacting to these comments, one viral post reported, “🚨 BREAKING: President Trump just went scorched-earth, demanding IMMEDIATE deportations of Somali refugees.“Somali pirates are ROBBING American taxpayers blind,” Trump said.”

Continuing, the same user added, “‘And every single one of them should be sent back’ — including Ilhan Omar, who he blasted as a crook. That was not subtle. That was a line in the sand.” Underneath this viral post, normal conservatives rallied behind the president.

“Put Omar in prison and freeze her assets. Don’t allow one penny of her wealth to leave the country. Prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Make her pay for defrauding the country!!!!” one user emphatically reacted.

Additionally, another user comment read, “So, when will the deportations start or have they? Did I miss something? But that woman is still making her venomous mouth work against the US. Still here?” Agreeing, one conservative quipped, “We have never seen immigrant theft like this in the history of America!!!”

Breaking down these comments, another viral post read, “The fraud has consequences. Trump confirmed his administration is examining denaturalizing Americans who committed fraud, with Somalis as a primary focus.”

Adding context, the same source revealed, “The backdrop: $9 billion stolen in Minnesota. 98 charged. 85 of Somali descent. Money allegedly sent to terror groups overseas. The mechanism: USCIS field offices have been asked to supply 100-200 denaturalization cases per month.”

Wrapping up, the post noted, “Federal law allows it when fraud occurred during the citizenship application. They stole billions. They thought citizenship was a shield. It’s not.” However, despite the overwhelmingly positive reaction, some liberal NGOs freaked out.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, CAIR, condemned Trump’s statement as a “bigoted attack,” whining, “This decision does not reflect changed conditions in Somalia. By dismantling protections for one of the most vulnerable Black and Muslim communities, this decision exposes an agenda rooted in exclusion, not public safety.”
