WATCH: High-Powered Democrat Gets Skewered after He Resigns in Disgrace When His Epstein Ties Got Exposed

Harvard University professor Larry Summers resigned from his post amid investigations into his connection with late pedophile and human trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Summers, who formerly served as U.S. Treasury Secretary and was, at one time, the president of Harvard, stopped teaching and stepped back from his role as Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government director as well. As could be expected, Summers faced huge criticism for his Epstein ties once they were revealed.

For reference, recently released emails reveal that Summers was in communication with Epstein up until the day before he was arrested in 2018 for sex trafficking of minors. The university released a statement saying it was “conducting a review of information concerning individuals at Harvard included in the newly released Jeffrey Epstein documents.”

Summers put out a statement of his own addressing the correspondence he shared with Epstein during a class full of students at Harvard. “Some of you will have seen my statement of regret, expressing my shame with respect to what I did in communication with Mr. Epstein. And that I’ve said that I’m going to step back from public activity.”

According to a report from the BBC, he then added, “I think it’s very important to fulfill my teaching obligations. So with your permission, we’re going to go forward and talk about the material in the class.” A spokesperson for Summers later revealed that “co-teachers will complete the remaining three class sessions of the courses he has been teaching with them this semester, and he is not scheduled to teach next semester”.

In any case, Fox News Channel commentator Jesse Watters dedicated a segment of his program to showcasing just how damaging the Epstein files were proving to be to Summers and other high-powered Democrats like him, despite their hoping it would lead to the downfall of President Donald Trump.

Beginning, Watters argued, “The bill to release the Epstein files is headed to Trump’s desk. It’s passing through the House and Senate. The Epstein release has been a roller coaster. Is the ride over? We don’t know. We know. Democrats think it’ll damage the president, but now it’s backfiring on them big time.”

Continuing, he noted, “Remember, Epstein was a Democrat. He was a Democrat donor, and he hung out with Democrats and the liberal media at all of his homes. Larry Summers, who worked for both Clinton and Obama, was a pen pal with the pet up, even asking Epstein for dating advice, and now he’s stepping down from his gig at Harvard.”

He went on in the segment to highlight other Democrats who were suffering a similar fate to Summers, saying, “Bill Clinton was supposed to testify last month, but his lawyers are playing games. Careful. You can go to jail for ignoring a House subpoena, House Democrat. Stacey Plaskett is also getting Epsteined. She took 1000s in donations from the predator, and he fed her questions during a congressional hearing.”

Finishing out his segment, Watters pointed out that Trump is one of the most transparent presidents in our nation’s history, having released previously unsealed documents pertaining to Martin Luther King Jr., JFK, and even UFOs. He also made it clear that the call for the release of the Epstein files was going to be far more damaging for Democrats than Republicans.

He said, “Remember now they’re trying to resurrect it to drive a wedge between Trump and Republicans. Sorry, doesn’t work that way. Just like the shutdown, this stunt is going to hurt them a lot more than it hurts him.” Watch him here:
