In a hilarious comment that set the internet ablaze, President Trump clashed with an apparently woke and combative CBS reporter named Nancy Cordes over Afghan vetting tied to the D.C. National Guard shooting suspect, labeling her “stupid,” and mocking her left-wing bias.
During the same conversation, Trump touted tariffs as funding significant income tax cuts and $2,000 dividends for low- and middle-income Americans. As could be expected, when reacting to the clip, conservative commenters on X cheered his bluntness in the exchange, slamming CBS as leftists and dishonest.
To start the interaction, the entitled reporter desperately tried to defend Biden. “Just reported this year that there was thorough vetting by DHS and by the FBI of these Afghans who were brought into the US. So why do you blame the Biden administration?” the journalist asked.
Firing back, President Trump described the massive throng of humanity that decamped Afghanistan for America during the 2021 disaster, saying, “Because they let them in? Are you stupid? Are you a stupid person? Because they came into [America] on a plane along with 1000s of other people that shouldn’t be here.”
Continuing, he noted that they are very difficult to make leave once they made it here, saying, “And you’re just asking questions because you’re a stupid person, and we there’s a law passed that it’s almost impossible not to get them out. You can’t get them out once they come in.”
Reacting to a social media clip, users supported the President’s dismissive tone. “Not Just the Reporter is Stupid, but CBS is also Stupid! My entire life CBS lied to its viewer and only since late 1990s I become aware, A basic honest study will show this! ABOUT TIME we have a Pres that gives honest answers!” one of the comments read.

However, this was far from the only comment Trump made during this interaction that made the news. “Over the next couple of years, I think we’ll substantially be cutting and maybe cutting out completely, but we’ll be cutting income tax. Could be almost completely cutting it because the money we’re taking in is going to be so large,” he added, much to the applause of conservatives.
These comments align with Trump’s recent remarks on Truth Social. “All money left over from the $2000 payments made to low and middle income USA Citizens, from the massive Tariff Income pouring into our Country from foreign countries, which will be substantial, will be used to SUBSTANTIALLY PAY DOWN NATIONAL DEBT. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” the president posted.
Adding to his previous comment, another Truth social post read, “People that are against Tariffs are FOOLS! We are now the Richest, Most Respected Country In the World, With Almost No Inflation, and A Record Stock Market Price. 401k’s are Highest EVER.”
Concluding his comments, Trump noted, “We are taking in Trillions of Dollars and will soon begin paying down our ENORMOUS DEBT, $37 Trillion. Record Investment in the USA, plants and factories going up all over the place. A dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid to everyone.”
