President Donald Trump responded with immense fury to a video posted by six Democrats in which they called on American troops to refuse to obey his administration’s “illegal” orders, arguing in his posts that the Democrats had engaged in sedition and treason, capital crimes, with the video.
For reference, the video, titled “Don’t Give Up the Ship,” was posted on Tuesday, November 18. It included statements from Sen. Elissa Slotkin, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-PA), Rep. Maggie Goodlander (D-NH), Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), and Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO). All six leftist lawmakers in the video spoke of their own service in the military and intelligence establishment while calling on troops to “refuse unlawful orders.”
President Trump, posting about it on Truth Social, declared that the video was an immense danger to America and represented seditious and treasonous behavior, saying, “This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP??? President DJT”
That came after another post in which he called for them to face trial for the seditious video, saying, “It’s called SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. Each one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand – We won’t have a Country anymore!!! An example MUST BE SET. President DJT”
And, in still another post on Truth Social, the president noted that sedition and treason are not just any crimes, but are capital crimes, and so the video could be one that is punishable by death. Doing so, he wrote, in an obviously fury-filled post, “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!”
Conservatives on social media reacted with fury to the video too. One such poster, CJ Pearson, said, “HOLY CRAP: Democrat members of Congress– including Senators Elissa Slotkin and Mark Kelly– just released a video encouraging members of the military to defy orders from President Trump. The party of “NO KINGS” is now encouraging a military coup.”

The president also reposted a number of Truth Social posts that were attacking the video. One such post that he reposted said, “Get these people out of office!! They aren’t doing their jobs, they are looking for ways to be rebels, and take others with them. They need to go!!!”
Similarly, another such post that he reposted argued that those involved, whether in disobeying orders or in promulgating the seditious video, could be held accountable, saying, “A!nd they can be brought to justice under the UCMJ, get busted down or Dishonorably Discharged, and lose their career and benefits. Step right into that 💩. That’s the ticket.”
Yet another such post said, “Those democrat veterans took the same oath I did to defend this country from domestic enemies. It’s a lifetime commitment. What should they do, what should the American people do when the domestic enemy is them? Al Qaeda is a foreign enemy who declared war on this nation on 09/11/2001. They’ve never sued for peace, so when Obama was giving aid to al Qaeda Libyan Rebels in Benghazi and the veteran democrat congress members were part of that coverup, it’s no wonder they are now asking members of our military to commit treason on their behalf.”
