In a fiery House exchange, Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) blasted Democrats’ “guilty by association” attacks on Kash Patel’s FBI nomination, fighting back by drawing attention to Rep. Stacey Plaskett’s (D-Virgin Islands) past campaign donations from convicted sex trafficker and conspiracy theory locus Jeffrey Epstein.
According to reports that have emerged, Rep. Plaskett accepted thousands of dollars in campaign funds, meeting the legal limit from the controversial financier, but deflected by citing ethical vetting for donations. She later donated the donations to Virgin Islands charities aiding women and children amid significant backlash.
However, while sources report that he made campaign contributions to her at the legal limit, she refused to return the funds until well after the Epstein scandal became public knowledge. She has said, commenting on the donations, “My litmus test for accepting campaign contributions has been based on whether the donor’s money was made legally or by ill-gotten means and that the contributor will not ask of me or my Congressional office for any special favors.”
Further defending herself, she claimed, “All my contributions have passed that test. In this case, however, I am uncomfortable having received money from someone who has been accused of these egregious actions multiple times.” However, after mounting pressure, Plaskett later said she would donate the funds “to Virgin Islands organizations that work with women and children,” claiming, “I am uncomfortable having received money from someone who has been accused of these egregious actions multiple times.”
In any case, tarting off her epic diatribe, the Florida Republican, Rep. Cammack, let loose with a fiery speech and said, “I believe the ranking member said she was deeply concerned about the affiliation, and we seem to have a guilty by association theme going on here.”
Building up to her point and noting the real affiliation that is of concern to her, Rep Cammack continued undeterred. “And so I just have to state for the record that I myself am deeply concerned about the affiliation of the convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein,” she noted.
Slamming her opponents, she explained how “[One of] the ranking members took campaign donation money from so I think that’s the beauty of the First Amendment, is that we have a right to say what we want to say, but we also have the right to be offended. So I just wanted to point that out.” She was, of course, referring to Rep. Plaskett.

Reacting to this high-octane clip, one prominent conservative social media account said, “If any Senator votes against Kash Patel for Director of the FBI, it’s because they’re tied to Jeffrey Epstein. Rep Kat Cammack calls out Democrat Stacey Plaskett for taking money from Jeffrey Epstein.”
Speaking out in support of Cammack and Patel, one conservative said, “We’re getting ready to see the biggest dismantling of the deep state that this country has ever seen. Regardless of the scale of the dismantling, it will be glorious as it’s never even been challenged before!🥳” Agreeing, another said, “Kat is great and we need more like her. She fought against FEMA and appears to actually fight for the people.”
