Democrat Convicted of Manslaughter for Killing Man Who Called Her a Mean Name Elected to Maine City Council

Conservatives have erupted in anger after Angela Walker, who was convicted of manslaughter for suffocating a tourist in 2002 in response to a nasty comment he allegedly made, won a Bangor, Maine, city council seat despite her 10-year prison term.

In a desperate attempt to recast her past, Walker, now 51, credits her past addiction and homelessness for offering unique leadership insights, responding to backlash: “That’s my past.” However, on social media, users were enraged by the apparent breach of common sense.

Describing why she wanted to run, the concilwoman declared, “One of the big reasons that I want to run is because I feel like, with my lived experience and the work that I’ve done in a few different agencies in the area, that I can bring concerns of community members to City Council and hope for some change and be the voice for people that can’t speak up or don’t speak up.”

Still not done with her self-congratulatory comments, Walker said, “With my lived experience and the work that I’ve done in a few different agencies in the area, I can bring concerns of community members to the City Council. I want people to see that it’s possible that we can change. I was lost for so many years. I think people really need to see the other side of that.”

Unsurprisingly, woke activists welcomed her nomination. “Angela has achieved positive results in her own recovery and has played a key role in projects that connect many people to crucial resources, supporting their recovery success,” Former Bangor City Council Chair Sarah Nichols claimed.

Summarizing the incident, popular conservative influencer Libs of TikTok said, “Meet Angela Walker. She was just elected to Bangor, Maine City Council. She was previously convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 10 years for kiIIing a tourist, allegedly because he called her a “racist” name. He was found severely beaten and suffocated with sand stuffed down his throat.”

However, users on social media were not buying this line. “America is so broken. Voters in Maine elected Angela Walker, a violent murderer, as a new city councilor… The glittering pinnacle of progressive enlightenment,” one popular comment read. Pointing out the apparent double standard, another user insightfully said, “People are rejected at jobs from McDonald’s and Walmart for having felonies, but Bangor residents willingly elected a killer to run the city.”

Putting the controversy in plain terms, another added, “A woman who helped beat a man senseless and literally stuffed sand down his throat until he suffocated is now sitting on a city council, sworn to uphold the law and public safety. Bangor voters knew every gruesome detail and still put her in power. That’s not redemption; that’s a middle finger to victims, to justice, and to basic decency.”

Exposing another element of the story, one post read, “This isn’t a redemption story, it’s a decline of Western Civilization story. This violent criminal murdered a White man, lied to make the White victim the bad guy and herself the victimized ‘minority,’ escaped murder charges, received a comparative slap on the wrist… and now holds public office.”
