In another huge move from stalwart MAGA congressman Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX), a freshman congressman who has already done much more than most of his Establishment colleagues to help effect the Trump Agenda, articles of impeachment against U.S. District Judge James Boasberg were filed on Tuesday, November 4.
As background, Republicans, including Rep. Gill, tried impeaching Judge Boasberg in the spring, but that effort went nowhere. Now, with the revelations of how Judge Boasberg aided and abetted the Biden-era Department of Justice’s “Arctic Frost” probe that saw, amongst other things, spying on the phones of GOP senators, Rep. Gill has renewed the effort to take down Judge Boasberg via impeachment.
In the filed articles of impeachment against the judge, Rep. Gill alleged, “Ignoring his responsibility to wield the power of his office in a constitutional manner, Chief Judge Boasberg granted Special Counsel John L. Smith authorization to issue frivolous nondisclosure orders in furtherance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation project codenamed ARCTIC FROST.”
Continuing, the articles noted that Judge Boasberg’s order was an attack on the privileges of legislators, saying, “These nondisclosure orders covered Members of Congress who were acting in accord with their legislative duties and privileges guaranteed by Article 1, Section 6, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution.”
Describing the importance of the impeachment effort in comments to Fox News Digital that came shortly after he filed the articles of impeachment against Judge Boasberg in the House, Rep. Gill said, “Chief Judge Boasberg has compromised the impartiality of the judiciary and created a constitutional crisis.”
Continuing, the MAGA congressman said that what Judge Boasberg did in Arctic Frost, amongst other incidents, was weaponize the courts against Republicans. He said, “He is shamelessly weaponizing his power against his political opponents, including Republican members of Congress who are faithfully serving the American people within their jurisdiction.”
Directly referencing the “Arctic Frost” lawfare attack on conservatives carried out by the Biden DOJ, and noting that Judge Boasberg was involved in letting it happen, Rep. Gill said, “Judge Boasberg was an accomplice in the egregious Arctic Frost scandal where he equipped the Biden DOJ to spy on Republican senators.”

Noting that the judge’s involvement in the lawfare shows how he is unfit for his position on the bench, Rep. Gill said, “His lack of integrity makes him clearly unfit for the gavel. I am proud to once again introduce articles of impeachment against Judge Boasberg to hold him accountable for his high crimes and misdemeanors.”

The congressman also posted about the matter on X, saying, “I just filed Articles of Impeachment against radical activist Judge James Boasberg. Judge Boasberg abused his power by weaponizing the judiciary against critics of the Biden Administration.”
He added, “As part of the Arctic Frost Investigation, Judge Boasberg signed off on frivolous nondisclosure orders to conceal the fact that sitting US Senators were being surveilled. Not only was this action egregiously improper; it was a gross violation of the separation of powers. Judge Boasberg is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors, is unfit for office, and should be impeached.”
