Bitter far-left Democrat and Squad member Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) went after conservative activist Riley Gaines for placing fifth in a 2022 NCAA swim meet, leading to a very entertaining social media smackdown of AOC delivered by Riley Gaines.
As background, Gaines, when a college swimmer, had tied with trans swimmer Lia Thomas. Before transitioning, Thomas was ranked 462nd in the men’s division. That incident led to a major fight over in which cases transgender individuals, particularly male-to-female transgender individuals, should be allowed to compete in sporting events.
In any case, the spat between Gaines and AOC began with a vague and innocuous social media post in which the former swimmer posted, “We’re being destroyed from within.” Retorting with an angry snarl of a quote tweet, Rep. AOC said, “Maybe if you channeled all this anger into swimming faster, you wouldn’t have come in fifth.”
Gaines didn’t back down from a fight with a member of Congress. Demolishing the woke Democrat in a quote tweet, Gaines said, “It’s always hilarious when they think they’ve landed a ‘gotcha’ by pointing out I was the 5th-fastest woman in the nation, yet they conveniently forget the mediocre man who ranked 462nd in the men’s division.”
Further, in a comment on AOC’s post, Gaines said, “It’s *always* “we support women’s rights!” until it’s a woman who wants the right to compete & undress free from less than mediocre men. Keep your mentally ill men out of our sports, locker rooms, prisons, etc.”
Doubling down in an appearance on Fox News, the conservative went after AOC. “Here’s what I will say. I want to honestly challenge AOC to a debate. She can defend socialism. I will defend capitalism. She can defend removing God. I will defend embracing a biblical worldview,” the former athlete declared.
Still not done trashing the controversial congresswoman, Gaines continued her diatribe. “She can defend child sacrifice. I will defend the sanctity of life, any of the radical and sane democratic policies and platform that they stand for, I will debate the opposite,” she said.

Building on her previous comments, she declared, “I’m challenging AOC to it here. I thought you’re going to challenge her to, like, a freestyle, 100 freestyle, or something. I’m like, that’s that too. That’s an unfair fight. Or, you know, a fair fight to her is putting a man in the pool.”
Rounding out her confident comments, Riley Gianes explained to AOC the massive gulf in athletic ability between biological men and women, saying, “Yeah, no, you can wear, no, no. You can wear, like, a 100-pound weight and challenge her to that would be fair, actually.”
Concluding her comments, she made it clear that she does have a real job. Gaines said, “I have a real job. I’m a mom. It’s the most important & rewarding job in the world. I think if you had a baby girl like I do, you’d understand my positions a little better.”
