“Insurrection”: Blue State Lawmakers Get Hammered Online after Making Big Move to Help Illegal Aliens, Taking First Step Toward Trying to Arrest ICE Agents

Conservatives exploded online after Illinois passed a bill banning federal immigration arrests near courthouses, allowing lawsuits for perceived constitutional violations during civil arrests, and requiring similar policies at hospitals, daycares, and colleges. Many on the right fear the consequences to border enforcement that will result.

Now headed to the desk of Gov. Pritzker for approval, the controversial bill aims to ensure court access without fear, according to the woke sponsors. Other far-left states, such as California and Connecticut, have filed similar laws. However, the federal government insists that no “legal sanctuaries” exist.

Many have noted that by making arrests illegal in such wide-ranging and ill-defined zones, these far-left distracts may be trying to move forward to a situation where they could arrest federal agents. These laws pose a significant risk to our border security, and raise fears of federal immigration agents facing reprisals from the sanctuary states or radical leftist protesters.

Issuing a biased take, Democratic Senate President Don Harmon claimed that the courts are against him. “It’s not just about the constitutionality of the law, which I think is sound, but it’s the reality that the courts are stacked against us,” the far-left activist whined.

Similarly, Democrat state Sen. Celina Villanueva, who sponsored the bill, claimed, “No one should have to choose between seeking justice and risking their freedom. Courthouses must be places where people can resolve disputes, testify, and support loved ones, not sites of fear or intimidation.”

Defending the absurd bill, California Attorney General Rob Bonta gave an unconvincing argument. “The state has a responsibility to provide safe and secure access to court facilities to all residents regardless of immigration status,” the biased official claimed.

Likewise, Connecticut Supreme Court Chief Justice Raheem Mullins stated, “Judges, staff, litigants, members of the public, they all must be able to conduct their business in our courthouses without fear of disruption.”

However, conservatives saw the situation differently from these far-left ideologues. Clearly annoyed, one user asked, “Why isn’t Congress delineating what these judges can and cannot rule on? They have the power to do that. And yet, nobody has even asked them to. Why is that?” Making a similar point, another added, ‘Which means absolutely nothing. States cannot control or legislate the operations of federal law enforcement agents.”

Pointing out a significant hole in the legal reasoning, some users were unconvinced. “States can pass laws, but they cannot override federal authority. Immigration enforcement is a federal jurisdiction. This bill may be more symbolic than enforceable, and could face legal challenges under the Supremacy Clause,” a comment read. Annoyed by the backward priorities of these states, another commented, “This judge completely SKIPS over justice for the victims of their crimes but instead comes to the defense of the criminals!”

Echoing many of these points in a single post, one user said that this law was “Insurrection.” Reacting, many conservatives advocated for harsh punishments. “Take down Illinois and its utterly corrupt government. Throw all these communists in prison!!!” a commentator wrote. Speculating, another added, “ZIllinois does not get to decide how ICE enforces federal law. I guess MAYBE they don’t have to participate, but I’m pretty sure they have no right to inhibit.”
