WATCH: Sydney Sweeney Turns Heads in Stunning Gown at Red Carpet Event as Her Friend Defends “Great Jenes” Ad

Sydney Sweeney, 28, donned an eye-catching sheer grey dress at Variety’s 2025 Power of Women event on October 29. At the same event, Sharon Stone, 67, defended herself against backlash over the American Eagle jeans campaign, which was criticized for its “great jeans/genes” tagline. In her comments, Stone praised Sweeney’s self-assurance and urged embracing “hotness.”

As part of the same so-called scandal, a reporter asked President Donald Trump what he thought about Sweeney’s party affiliation, prompting a funny response from the quick-witted president. Not only did he quip about the popularity of Trump supporters, but he also said the ad was fantastic.

Making her initial comment, Sharon Stone offered a unique insight into Sweeney’s personality. “She understands herself and she’s comfortable and centered and safe within herself,” the actor said, adding, “It’s hard to be hot, and I think we all know that. It’s really okay to use every bit of hotness you have.”

Building on her previous comments, Stone noted, “It’s okay to use what mama gave you. It’s really fine. It’s really okay to use every bit of hotness you have — right here, right now — and go for whatever that is, because everybody has their own certain kind of hotness… Because who are you not to be beautiful? You know, who you are isn’t an accident.”

Rounding out her comments, she recalled comments from Jane Goodall. “Well, if I did [have good legs], then that helped me get more money for my research,” Stone noted. Concluding her statement, she quoted Sweeney:”Yeah, and I’m sure I made a billion dollars for the jeans company, and I’m good with that. Because, you know what? I’ll get another job.”

As the American Tribune reported, a reporter asked President Trump about the bombshell and the “great jeans” issue back when it was a hot topic. “Actress Sydney Sweeney — it came out this weekend that she’s a registered Republican,” the journalist asked. Firing off a hilarious comment, President Donald Trump said, “You’d be surprised at how many people are Republicans … I’m glad you told me that. If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic!”

Additionally, he took to Truth Social to build on his comment and praise her yet further: “Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves.’ Go get ’em, Sydney!” the post read.

Additionally, he noted, “On the other side of the ledger, Jaguar did a stupid, and seriously WOKE advertisement, THAT IS A TOTAL DISASTER! The CEO just resigned in disgrace, and the company is in absolute turmoil. Who wants to buy a Jaguar after looking at that disgraceful ad?”

Calling back to other examples of woke values he noted, “Shouldn’t they have learned a lesson from Bud Lite, which went Woke and essentially destroyed, in a short campaign, the Company. The market cap destruction has been unprecedented, with BILLIONS OF DOLLARS SO FOOLISHLY LOST.” Wrapping up his comments, Trump noted, “The tide has seriously turned — Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
