Scott Alexander is a magician who rose to some level of fame when he appeared on Season 6 of America’s Got Talent. Tragically, he suddenly died on Sunday, February 5th.
Announcing Alexander’s tragic passing was his wfe of 24 years, Jenny. Posting about his sudden death, which she said was caused by a stroke, on Instagram, she said “I lost my husband yesterday. My kids lost their father. He suffered a stroke while working on a cruise ship in St Kitts and did not make it home to us. We are shattered. Please hold us in your prayers.” A GoFundMe fundraiser was also created on the behalf of Mr. Alexander’s family. Describing his life and tragic passing, it said:
Scott Alexander was a talent, a creator, an entertainer through and through. He has been seen via America’s Got Talent, Penn and Teller Fool us, the Oprah Winfrey show and more. He has performed countless shows in theaters and auditoriums….from years of headlining at Caesar’s Palace on the Las Vegas strip to Cruise ships sailing across the world. Not to mention the little Auditorium of a small rural school to assist in fundraising for a new track. Scott Alexander is one of the most respected names within the magic scene.
For me, and others in our community, we didn’t all know him and his wife as the on-stage duo or the star magician that he was. Those within this circle knew him as a good man, a loving Husband, a caring Father. A Family man. The Dad who helped with homecoming parade floats, science projects, Halloween costumes, his kids’ talent show school performances. We sat next to him during band and chorus concerts, stopped to say a quick hello during school events or talked along the sidelines of a sports field while watching our children play. He very clearly loved his family, his wife, and his three children.
In a tragic turn of events, while working on a Cruise ship, Scott suffered a stroke. He was transferred to a nearby hospital in St. Kitts where he was receiving intensive care, but it is with the heaviest of hearts that I share that Scott Alexander did not make it home to his family. Unexpected, sudden…Scott’s family and friends are struggling to process how this could be real and are purely devastated.
Scott leaves behind a tremendous legacy in a multitude of ways, but closest to our hearts is his dear wife, Jenny Alexander, who he shared his life with for 24 years, and their three beautiful children, Jack (18), Roxy (17) and Sawyer (13). Their family dynamic, which was created and grown together in love, has so quickly changed.
As you can certainly imagine, Scott’s family is simply crushed by this tragic turn of events within the last 3 days. We hope to bring the community together to help support Jenny and the kids, giving them time to process and grieve this tremendous loss. The money collected will go directly to Jenny to help with anything they may need for the foreseeable future, as well as their children’s future.
If you will, please keep Scott’s family in your prayers. And thank you for helping to support this wonderful family during this most difficult transition.
Mr. Alexander impressed the judges of “America’s Got Talent” during his audition for Season 6 of the show. The judges — Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mande — were “wowed” when he made his assistant, then his wife Jenny, appear out of nowhere, be supported by water, and then levitate. It was a wild performance that got him sent to the Las Vegas round, though he was eventually eliminated in the quarterfinals. That sad defeat followed his stunning magic act of making a gospel choir disappear and then suddenly reappear a distance away.
After he was eliminated from Season 6, Alexander performed on both Penn & Teller: Fool Us and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
