It’s no secret President Donald Trump is the master at trolling the radical left, which he has done relentlessly when it comes to the idea of his running for a third term in 2028. However, one title leftists won’t have to worry about Trump procuring for himself in the future is that of vice president. However, he refused to officially decline he would run for a third term, which will no doubt spawn a series of panicked responses from liberals across social media.

President Trump has joked numerous times at political rallies, as well as teasing supporters with hats that have “Trump 2028” written on them. There have been a few folks connected with the president who are taking those signals seriously despite the Constitution stating clearly in the 22nd Amendment, added after FDR’s lengthy and tradition-breaking tenure, that he can only serve two terms. Liberals are convinced this means these allies are searching for a legal pathway to make it possible for Trump to serve an additional four years.

One of the suggested paths for President Trump to skirt around the prohibition is to run for vice president, while another individual runs as president and later resigns so he can take the Oval Office once again. President Trump has, despite the jokes about 2028, moved to dispel those many rumors and fear.

Such came on Monday, October 27, when President Trump had an exchange with reporters on Air Force One where he said, “I’d be allowed to do that.” He then added, “I wouldn’t do that. I think it’s too cute. Yeah, I would rule that out because it’s too cute. I think the people wouldn’t like that. It’s too cute. It’s not – it wouldn’t be right.”

According to Reuters, he then alluded to the possibility of a third term, saying, “I would love to do it. I have my best numbers ever.” A reporter then asked if he was not ruling out the possibility of running for a third term. He responded, “Am I not ruling it out? I mean you’ll have to tell me.” The reporter then asked him if he would be willing to undertake a legal battle in order to run for a third presidential bid, Trump said, “I haven’t really thought about it.”

If Trump were to run for a third term he would be 82-years-old, which means he’d take the crown as the oldest president in the nation’s history. The president, despite his age, has kept a rigorous schedule of public appearances and has engaged with members of the press on a regular basis, which many supporters point to as evidence he has the stamina and active involvement in discharging the duties of the Oval Office.

President Trump also stated on Monday that either Vice President JD Vance or Secretary of State Marco Rubio were “great people” who could potentially take up the mantle of the MAGA movement and become the next president. “I think if they ever formed a group, it’d be unstoppable,” he went on to say, adding, “I really do. I believe that.”

Rubio, who was standing behind Trump on the plane, laughed and bowed his head at the praise heaped on him by the president. He nodded in agreement when Trump mentioned Vance as a viable candidate for the 2028 presidential race.
