After a dramatic TV exchange on ABC, Vice President JD Vance lambasted host George Stephanopoulos for fixating on an unproven and unsourced audio tape claiming Tom Homan accepted a $50,000 bribe. Fighting back, Vance demolished the entitled reporter.
Blasting the narrative apart, Vance called the slanderous narrative a bogus story and “weird left-wing rabbit hole” with no criminal wrongdoing. Additionally, he blasted ABC for its plummeting ratings. He noted how they are ignoring the government shutdown’s real victims: “low-income women [who] can’t get food” due to Democrats and Chuck Schumer.
The video began with a confident rebuke from the Vice President. “Here’s why fewer and fewer people watch your program and why you’re losing credibility, because you’re talking for 5 minutes with the Vice President about this story regarding Tom Homan,” JD Vance noted.
Still not done, he slammed Stephanopoulos for being focused on the wrong issues. Vance declared,” Meanwhile, low-income women can’t get food because the Democrats and Chuck Schumer have shut down the government!”
Layering on insults, Vance expressed his disgust for the biased journalist. “You are focused on a bogus story. You’re insinuating criminal wrongdoing against a guy who has done nothing wrong instead of focusing on the fact that our country is struggling because our government’s shut down,” he said to the cowering news anchor.
Wrapping up his initial salvo, he dismissed the story entirely. JD Vance confidently asserted, “I think the American people would benefit much more from that than from you going down some weird left-wing rabbit hole where the facts clearly show that Tom Homan didn’t engage in any criminal wrongdoing.”
In a limp-wristed attempt at a response, the irritating ABC journalist claimed, “It’s not a weird left-wing rabbit hole. I didn’t insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50,000, as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024, and you did not answer the question.

Unwilling to let himself be cut off, Vance interjected, “No, I said….” However, Stephanopoulos, afraid of Vance’s confident rhetoric, ended the video call. “We’ll be right back,” he said as he ended the segment ahead of time, cutting off Vance and taking him off the screen before he could get another jab in.

Posting a clip of the tense incident, a prominent conservative explained the context. “Vice President JD Vance just went off on George Stephanopoulos on live TV and exposed why ABC’s ratings are collapsing…They panicked and cut to a commercial before JD Vance could keep going,” the viral post read.
In the comments under this tweet, conservatives mocked the entitled journalist. Firing back at ABC, one user noted, “Vice President J.D. Vance did what very few public figures ever dare to do: he told the truth directly to one of the most dishonest propagandists in American media.”
Reacting to the same clip, one prominent conservative noted, “Not A Journalist: George Stephanopoulos is a leftist propaganda mouthpiece of the DNC. There’s a reason he has NO credibility. JD Vance steamrolled ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, prompting the network to abruptly cut his feed and go to commercial break.”
