As the Schumer Shutdown grinds on with no end in sight thanks to irresponsible and ridiculous Democrat funding demands, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took to the stand to expose how Democrats really are demanding that Republicans appropriate funding for Medicaid access for illegal aliens, bringing a slew of examples to show how.
For reference, the Schumer Shutdown began on October 1, after the Senate failed to come to an agreement about government spending and a continuing resolution on September 30. As President Trump revealed at the time, one of the main holdups in coming to an agreement was the fact that the Democratic Party’s spending demands would fund healthcare for illegal immigrants to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars.
Democrats have, of course, denied that, freaking out over the claim that they would shut down America to pay for the healthcare of illegal aliens. Unfortunately for them, Trump’s claim is accurate, as even CNN has admitted in segments and as everyone from the White House to Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has revealed in statements on the matter.
In any case, Karoline Leavitt used the press conference on Thursday, October 23, to bring the receipts and expose how Democrats have put Americans at risk in order to fund healthcare benefits for illegal aliens. She began by saying, “Since I have found many in this room to repeatedly deny the reality that Democrats gave Medicaid benefits to illegals, and they continue to seek to do just that, I’ve brought a few verified examples for you today.”
Continuing, she started rattling off cases in which violent, criminal illegal aliens had been arrested and provided with “free healthcare.” She said, rattling off the examples, “An illegal alien from Laos was arrested for murder, robbery, and felony possession of a firearm. An illegal alien from Guatemala was arrested for rape and burglary. An illegal alien from El Salvador was arrested for strangulation, DUI, and burglary. An illegal alien from Mexico was arrested for attempted murder.”
Concluding, the press secretary noted that not only did the Democrats and their Biden-era open border policies let those dangerous and violent illegal aliens into the country, but they then provided them with welfare. She said, “The Democrats’ open border policies allowed these threats into our country, and then they provided them with free healthcare.”

Mike Johnson, revealing how the Democrat demands would benefit illegal aliens, said, in a press conference of his own, “The other thing that they put in there is very important, and on page 57 in Section 2141, [this is] not a Republican talking point, read from the Democrats document themselves. They said that they want to repeal the health provisions of the One Big, Beautiful Bill. Why is that so important? Because [those health provisions] eliminated all of the taxpayer funded benefits going to illegals.”
He added, explaining the total cost of those ridiculous demands, “The Democrats counter proposal, CR, the dirty CR, we call it, as opposed to the clean CR, would result in nearly $200 billion being spent on illegal aliens and other noncitizens.” Watch him here:
