In some momentous news announced on Tuesday, October 21, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) announced that his committee had referred former CIA Director John Brennan to the Department of Justice for criminal charges related to his lying to Congress, the same sort of charges on which former FBI Director James Comey was indicted.
In response to that bad news delivered by Jim Jordan, Brennan, known mainly for his Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) and involvement in the Russia Hoax, had a total freakout moment on MSNBC, declaring that Trump was a “charlatan” who was weaponizing the government against him.
Rep. Jordan, describing the criminal referral on X in a post that also included a link to the full referral, along with a screenshot of the first page of it, said, “John Brennan lied to Congress. Today, we referred him to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution.”
Beginning, the criminal referral said, “We write to refer significant evidence that former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) John Brennan knowingly made false statements during his transcribed interview before the Committee on the Judiciary on May 11, 2023. While testifying, Brennan made numerous willfully and intentionally false statements of material fact contradicted by the record established by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) and the CIA.”
Continuing, it noted the statutory authority for holding him accountable, noting, “Under 18 U.S.C. § 1001, a witness commits a crime if he ‘knowingly and willfully . . . makes any materially false . . . statement or representation’ with respect to ‘any investigation or review, conducted pursuant to the authority of any committee . . . of the Congress[.]’ Congress cannot perform its oversight function if witnesses who appear before its committees do not provide truthful testimony. Making false statements before Congress is a crime that undermines the integrity of the Committee’s constitutional duty to conduct oversight.”
So, Brennan is now in serious trouble, and he freaked out about it. He did so in a Wednesday, October 22 interview on MSNBC’s “Deadline” program, melting down in a wild ramble over President Trump and telling host Nicolle Wallace the MAGA base has been hoodwinked by the “charlatan” President Trump.
Freaking out over the charges he faces, Brennan said, “This is something that is deeply flawed about Donald Trump in terms of his having to go after these enemies, even though he has enormous political power, much more so than any previous public president. And he’s exercising that. He’s pushing the boundaries of it. But still, he feels as though he has to vanquish his rivals, vanquish his opponents.”

Continuing, the panicked-looking former CIA Director declared, “What I find most shocking is that his base, his MAGA base, continued to be hoodwinked by a world-class charlatan. I mean, I was watching your program in terms of, you know, the East Wing of the White House, my goodness, a place that is sacred, you know, in terms of our political system and our country.”
Continuing, he snapped that not wanting to pay for the healthcare of illegal aliens is un-American, saying, “And they’re allowing him to do this. And it’s just one more symbol of his tearing down all the things that have made this country great for so many years. The types of actions that he’s taking against undocumented workers here, tearing families apart, going after Medicaid recipients, the types of things that, again, it seems so inconsistent with American values.”
Concluding, he declared, “And he should be really addressing the cost of living issues, other types of things, as well as the on the international stage, whether you’re talking about cyber threats or the China threat or Ukraine and other things. Why he continues to focus on this, I think, is just beyond me.”
