GOP Rep Introduces Bill to Block Sharia Law Adherrents from Immigrating into the US, Accessing Public Benefits

In another major move that many on the MAGA side of politics see as being necessary to protect Americans from foreign predation, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) has introduced legislation that would, if passed, block adherents of Sharia Law from immigrating into the United States or accessing public benefits in the US.

Such is what Rep. Roy’s office announced in a press release, with Rep. Roy’s new bill building on other efforts to outlaw Sharia Law in the United States, such as the bill introduced by Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) in the House and the move being promoted by Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) in the United States Senate, along with similar initiatives at the state level.

Announcing Rep. Roy’s new bill in an October 8 press release, the congressman’s office announced, “Representative Chip Roy (TX-21) introduced the Preserving A Sharia-Free America Act today. This legislation would prevent all foreign nationals who observe Sharia from entering the U.S. or from remaining in the country, prioritizing our security and values nationwide.”

The press statement later explained what exactly it is that the bill would do. Beginning, that section explained that “This bill would prevent all foreign nationals who observe Sharia from entering the U.S. or from remaining in the country: Denies any immigration benefit, visa, immigration relief, or admission to the United States to any alien who adheres to Sharia law.”

Continuing, the press release explained that those Sharia adherents who are here would not only be unable to access further benefits but could be deported, saying, “Revokes (or denies) any immigration benefit, immigration relief for any alien in the U.S. who is an adherent of Sharia law – ensuring that individual would be considered inadmissible or deportable and be removed.”

Concluding, the press release also noted, “Ensures that any alien who provides false statements about his or her adherence to Sharia Law to any federal agency shall have his or her immigration benefit, immigration relief, or visa revoked, be considered inadmissible or deportable, and shall be removed. Prevents activist courts and judges from upending a final decision from agencies that find Sharia adherents removable from the U.S.”

Rep. Roy explained the importance, as he sees it, of the bill in a statement that was issued as part of the press release, framing the matter as existentially important. He began, “America is facing an existential threat – the spread of Sharia Law. From Texas to every state in the union, instances of Sharia Law adherents have threatened the American way of life, seeking to replace our legal system and Constitution with an incompatible ideology that diminishes the rights of women, children, and individuals of different faiths.

Continuing, he noted that our immigration system must reflect those salient facts, saying, “Europe should be a wakeup call to America, showing what the spread of Sharia law looks like – the erosion of the West. America’s immigration system must be fortified to counter the importation of Sharia adherents – the preservation of our constitutional republic and its people depend on it.”
