Winning the hearts of the whole crowd, Melania Trump recently addressed the crowd at the Navy’s 250th anniversary celebration, where she and her husband, President Donald Trump appeared alongside each other and each gave their remarks about naval service.

During her speech to the Navy sailors, Melania also gave brief remarks about the generations of courage and sacrifice shown by our sailors. She shared her memories of visiting the USS George H.W. Bush during Trump’s last term and remembered how the men she met there embodied the spirit of America.

In a viral clip that swept the internet, Melania can be seen speaking to the crowd at the Army-Navy Football game. “Hooyah, Navy,” Melania said several times as the crowd shouted the chant back to her. Continuing, she said, “It is an honor to be with you to celebrate the 250th year since the United States Navy was officially established.”

Continuing her comments, she remarked how “generations of sailors have kept America free because of their presence on the high seas. Your strength, bravery, and sacrifice inspire us all. The President and I just attended an extraordinary demonstration, an inspiring display of skills that reflects the very best of our Navy.”

Using an anecdote to add a personal touch, she remembered another trip to visit the Navy. “For me, it brought up the back fond memories of my visit to the USS George H.W. Bush in 2018 I will always remember the pride and professionalism of the sailors I met on that vessel. I witness the enduring spirit of America’s Navy, which propels every mission and lives on to every sailor who serves now,” the First Lady said.

As we reported, shortly after the first lady spoke, President Donald Trump gave his remarks to the crowd. He promised, “We will get our service members every last penny. Don’t worry about it, but, we have to take care of this little gnat that’s on our shoulder called the Democrats. They want to give all of our money to illegal aliens that pour into the country.”

Building on this point, he assured the crowd, saying, “Don’t worry about that. It’s all coming, and even more because I’m supporting the across-the-board pay raises for every sailor and service member in the United States armed forces.”

Pivoting, Trump spoke to the mission of our sailors. “America’s sailors have proven time and again that our Navy does just the best job there is. We own the skies, we stalk the depths, and we rule the seas. We don’t know anything about defeat. In every era and every part of this globe, our sailors have fought with courage in their hearts, patriotism in their souls, and salt water in their veins,” Trump noted.

Watch Melania’s comments and the crowd cheer her here:

Concluding his comments, Trump said “standing before all of you today, I know that whenever our nation is threatened and whenever they need help, whenever duty calls, American sailors will hoist our flag high and they will rally….with your help we will fight, fight, fight and we will win, win win, because of you our navy and our country will always be proud and righteous and mighty and free.”
